The One Being in Mortal Kombat and Pangu

Mortal Kombat had the enigmatic character known as "The One Being" who was first mentioned in Mortal Kombat Deception. Although he was mentioned, he never became a full character and remained a background character like Jerrod (Sindel's husband and Kitana's biological father), King Gorbak (Goro's father) and the Elder Gods.

In Taoist cosmology, there is the first conscious being known as Pangu. In the ancient Chinese creation myths, Pangu was born from a giant cosmic egg. He saw the importance of splitting the Earth from the Sky. Later, his decayed body soon formed the Universe itself. The creation of the Universe and all the realms was a result of Pangu's death after 18,000 years. Out from his body were born the realms. Doesn't that sound like the One Being in Mortal Kombat?

Information of the One Being in Mortal Kombat Deception was vague. It was said that he acted through Shao Kahn and Onaga. In Deception, Onaga sought to capture the Six Kamidogu which if it was combined with Shinnok's Amulet would finally create the ultimate key to restarting the realms. Both Shao Kahn and Onaga sought to merge the other realms with Outworld but failed to do so. In Armageddon, Shao Kahn won but for some reason, everyone was soon reincarnated into a second timeline after that.

In Mortal Kombat X, Shinnok's ending depicted the One Being's revelation. Apparently, all the denizens of the realms are just split members of the One Being's immeasurable consciousness. In Chinese mythology, Nuwa used the yellow clay (still part of Pangu) to craft the denizens of the realms to create the humans. Apparently, the yellow clay still had bits and pieces of Pangu's consciousness which may explain Shinnok's ending or how the One Being could act through Shao Kahn and Onaga. Shao Kahn and Onaga may have been individually crafted by Nuwa in contrast to most of the humans in the realm of Mortal Kombat.
