Mortal Kombat X And Some Throwbacks!

I won't be able to play this game anytime soon (BOOOOO to circumstances), I felt like writing about some crazy stuff that you might want to think about:

1.) The game takes place twenty years after the reincarnation of the Mortal Kombat franchise.

What's amazing also is that the Mortal Kombat movie turned 20 this year together with Johnny Cage is now as old as his actor, Linden Ashby as both are in their 50s. The fact Cassie is the daughter of Johnny and Sonya, Jacqui is Jax's daughter and Takeda is Kenshi's son proves how fast time has gone.

2.) Like Tekken 3, it does take a generation jump or something. Tekken 3 takes place 19 years after Tekken 2 and Mortal Kombat X takes place 20 years after the game's reincarnation. What might be an amazing thing to know is that both games have Kotal Kahn and Ogre. I wasn't all too surprised that Kotal Kahn looks like Ogre, complete with the Aztec theme. I wouldn't be surprised to find out if Kotal Kahn is really Onaga's reincarnation.

3.) Even if Mortal Kombat X is pretty much on DC Comics, there's a lot of Marvel Comics similarities to it. Is Warner Bros. trying to buy Marvel? Hopefully! I always thought of everything that felt like it was an Avengers rehash... Kung Jin is Hawkeye, Takeda would be Dragon Fist, Cassie would be Black Widow and Jacqui would be Danielle Cage. You might also observe how Special Forces is SHIELD, Scorpion is Ghost Rider, Quan Chi is Mephisto and the rivalry of Raiden and Shinnok is like Thor and Loki. Both Shinnok and Loki were soon beheaded by their rivals and kept alive as living heads.

4.) Of all the revenant costumes, I always felt that Liu Kang's revenant costume makes him look like Evil Ryu of Street Fighter. What might piss me off is that the revenant costumes of those who didn't return to the living are not secondary costumes and you still needed to play through. So really, I hope a Komplete Edition soon comes out a year later as compensation to those who may not easily get a PS4. Heck, even Liu Kang's rivalry with Shang Tsung is similar to Ryu and Akuma!

5.) Mortal Kombat X's brutalities are usually comboable except for a few like Goro's Krush or Liu Kang's hothead. I would admit that seeing all these brutality combo videos made me think of how to combo in and out right? I guess they would end up becoming like Killer Instinct's Ultra Combos.

6.) The variations here are labeled as like "Dragon Fire, Dragon Fist and Dualist" or different names per character, I still want to compare it to the grooves of Street Fighter Alpha 3 or the six different ways of playing a character in Capcom vs. SNK 2. If you remember Street Fighter Alpha 3, certain moves are only present in X-Ism or A-Ism or in Capcom vs. SNK 2, certan moves are not available in the other grooves.

Mortal Kombat X Goro Hero
7.) Goro's return in Mortal Kombat X as both sub-boss and downloadable content (gotta pay now... boooooo). Johnny Cage also has some bonus dialogue with Goro that makes a reference to their non-canon fight in the Mortal Kombat movie. Oh wait, Goro was also the sub-boss of Mortal Kombat 4 who was playable via a cheat code but did not have any ending. In Mortal Kombat X, he can be killed with a fatality or brutality plus he has his own ending.

So maybe I won't get to play the kickass game for now, maybe never because my gaming vibes aren't as hot as it used to ubt... cheers to all who got their game!
