The Neo Saban Era Of Power Rangers Operates With The Krusty Krab Mindset

It's no secret the once big time businessman who partnered with several companies such as Toei Ltd. (for Power Rangers), he once partnered with DIC and Nintendo to produce their Super Mario Bros. cartoon and he also partnered with Marvel in the 90s for many of the hit Marvel-based cartoons. While I could still watch the Marvel-based cartoons by Saban without thinking about Power Rangers but I think of why I ended up walking out with Power Rangers. It's even getting WORSE during the Neo-Saban era because he's living with the Krusty Krab mindset.

It's getting more obvious that Saban is still living on his past successes while Toei is figuring out how to establish present successes more than rely on past successes. What succeeded in the 90s may not succeed in this year. While I do prefer most 90s Super Sentai over last decade and this decade at a personal level but I can understand why new stuff get tried on every time. He's living in a Krusty Krab mindset. Too bad for him, living with the Krusty Krab mindset won't really work in real life. After all, if the Krusty Krab were real other competitors like Jollibee and McDonald's would crush it down. The efficiency of other burger joints would defeat one where you only have Spongebob and Squidward as your employees.

What's wrong with Neo-Saban is that he's trying to go back to the past. The most obvious is rehashing the Mighty Morphin' theme. Sure it's epic at first but rehashing it makes me want to do Arnold Schwarzenegger's trademark "SHUT UP!" line. That's why Power Rangers Samurai ends up the mess it is. Putting Bulk and Spike for the sake of nostalgia is dumb. I have nothing against Felix Ryan but his character Spike is oh so useless. Spike could have been better if he were Genta 2.0 than just a character who's probably desperate to leave the show. Power Rangers Megafailed is the worst anniversary ever where the only reason why I watch it (if I even want to FINISH watching it because of how mind-numbing it is) is the eye candy. But not even the eye candy is enough to convince me to stay... hee hee!

Need I mention about the whole Nickelodeon deal? The whole two-year run is SO STUPID. It's murdering revenues. Before, we had Power Rangers as a yearly thing. Now, it's just so annoying to have that long summer break. I think even children can get bored with it. Long time fans may even end up walking out of the franchise. Power Rangers Dino Charge could have been much better if it wasn't for that summer break and if Judd Lynn weren't overworked. Right now, Lynn is already burnt out and Ninja Steel accomplishes itself as one of the worst running shows as of present. By looking at it not only is Saban sticking too much with past success but the changes that happen are for the worse. Change is necessary for progress but change doesn't always equal progress either.

Besides, shouldn't Saban realize that the audience now is already completely new? I mean, how old are the Mighty Morphin' kids anyway? The focus of Saban Brands should be a new generation of children and think of newer ways to do things. Failing to understand what change is needed and living on past successes is certainly a surefire recipe for disaster to your golden goose. So sorry to say but Power Rangers has been going downhill even more and more.
