G.I.Joe Season 2 opened with the five-part miniseries "Arise Serpentor Arise". Destro, Dr. Mindbender, and the Crimson Twins conspired to create a new, better COBRA leader except that they ended up creating a much bigger moron than the Cobra Commander. Their rather scientifically-impossible plan was fun to explore. In reality, Serpentor can't be created because most of the DNA samples from the tyrants have been LONG DEAD. However, since it's only fiction so let's have the fun of imagining the possible rulers who'd create this emperor.
So whose DNA would I use? Here's my list of candidates that should've been in Dr. Mindbender's list and why I'd use them:
- Napoleon Bonaparte - Obviously he has the military genius who ended up only falling on Waterloo.
- Genghis Khan - The great Mongol leader has the ferocity and military genius.
- Alexander the Great - Although short-lived but he does have the military genius and leadership that earned him his title.
- Joseph Stalin - Rather than Ivan the Terrible, he's even more of a real dictator.
- Rameses II - The greatest known Pharaoh would be better included than the fictional general Xanith Amon Toth. Strangely, Serpentor's design was reused for Wrath-Amon in Hasbro's cartoon Conan the Adventurer.
- Eric the Red - You need some Viking savagery, right?
- Shaka-Zulu - The tribal chief had better traits than Montezuma in leading the Zulus in their military campaign.
- Vlad Tepes - Obviously, this guy was a bloodthirsty tyrant who knew how to inflict fear.
- Adolf Hitler - I wonder why this guy was NOT even included in the list. Hitler was cremated though in G.I.Joe they did use the ashes of Julius Caesar.
- Benito Mussolini - He would suffice in the place of Julius Caesar.
- Francisco Franco - The dictator of fascist Spain.
- Mao Zedong - Dr. Mindbender could've considered using Mao's DNA in the place of Sun Tzu. I guess Hasbro couldn't risk getting tensions if Dr. Mindbender tried to steal Mao's DNA to complete Serpentor.
- Sennacherib - The Assyrian king who bragged about his great military campaign throughout the Middle East would be the best candidate over Tiglath-Pileser.
- Nebuchadnezzar - Known to be the greatest monarch of Babylon as he was the one who brought Babylon to greatness.
- Xerxes - The great ruler of the magnificent Persian empire.
- Simon Bolivar - The great military leader who tried to unite all of South America and dictator of Peru.
