Who Can Remember That WTF Ending Of Jim Henson's Dinosaurs Sitcom?

I did enjoy the Dinosaurs sitcom as a child -- but one episode was funny and depressing at the same time. It's the final episode (not counting the lost episodes) and its' the 407th episode where ratings were dropping really fast. How to write a finale? It goes out with a bang and I really laugh (and facedesk) at the same time watching this episode.

The episode starts with everyone waiting for the Bunch Beetles to return to eat the Cider Poppy overgrowth. I couldn't help but comment how stupid Earl Sinclair REALLY is -- he puts too much faith in technology and this is what happens. Instead of going for environmentally friendly innovation -- they fail to see how innovative thinking is like a two edged sword. It's a brilliant thing at the right hands but dangerous at the hands of people like We Say So Corporation.

This is epic facedesk. It's really something when destruction happens in the name of progress. Yes, it's progress alright -- progressive destruction. By destroying the Bunch Beetles nest -- there is but one Bunch Beetle who can eat the overgrowing Cider Poppies. But here's what's going on... instead of coming up with environmentally friendly ways -- the We Say So Corporation ended up destroying ALL plant life in the process.

It's obvious to see how stupid Mr. Richfield really is. If Earl's stupid then maybe Mr. Richfield is even more stupid for this reason -- first he started the defoliant or herbicide plan which stripped the planet bare. Now, he's even gone from bad to worse with his absurd lack of common sense. He thinks that it'll rain by planting bombs into the volcanoes. Does he even have knowledge of the nature cycle? I doubt it since We Say So Corporation uses processed food A LOT -- so I guess they think that planting bombs into volcanoes will produce rain. I really laughed at that idea that was until...

Yup, the episode is both sad and funny at the same time. I laugh thinking at how Mr. Richfield is still thinking about money while the world is coming to an end. It's a sad ending and Earl says that there may never even be a third quarter. The whole episode ends with the Ice Age kicking in and the Sinclairs' home getting buried in snow. Wow, talk about a crazy finale.
