The Exalted Jade Emperor's Possible Role In The Mortal Kombat Universe

The Jade Emperor's traditional birthday falls on the 9th day of the 1st lunar month. There are many stories considering the Jade Emperor. Some consider him to be one of the many manifestations of the first Elder God. Others say he's an avatar of the Three Pure Ones. Some say he's actually Yuan Shi Tian Jun or others he succeeded. My favorite version is where he's the current manifestation of Yuan Shi Tian Jun or the Primeval Elder God. So what would be his role in the Mortal Kombat Universe as the Supreme Elder God?

He would be the one who holds the final mandate of Heaven. He would be involved in leading his fellow Elder Gods in the war against Pan Gu or the One Being. Some stories of Pan Gu are that he simply died after the creation. Others may have said that the Elder Gods themselves banished Pan Gu and divided his body into what could become all of reality. That's why it's said that all beings in all the realms are what are called to be fragments of the collective consciousness of the One Being. He would be the one to lead the Elder Gods in their battle against the One Being and all the Titans. All before the creation started. The triumph would result in the creation of the realms and he dictates all the mandates in all the realms. He would be the one who would have appointed the different gods and Raiden his position as protector of Earthrealm.

He would be the Primeval Elder God of Beginnings then his possible relatives would include Shinnok as a brother. Shinnok's equivalent in the Chinese pantheon is the fallen Elder God known as Tong Tian Jiao Zhu or the Heavenly Grandmaster. Perhaps, the Jade Emperor had declared war during that time which led to the realms' banishment. This war allowed mankind to finally arise after several millennia of battle. The Jade Emperor would have probably also been the one to finally sentence Shinnok to the Netherrealm and appoint Yan Wang as ruler of the Netherrealm. For starters, Yan Wang is merely a neutral god who judges all the dead in the Netherrealm and is the jail warden. In Dragon Ball Z -- that would be King Yama. How long Yama was dethroned since Shinnok took over is unknown though he should work hard on de-throning Liu Kang and Kitana now!

So what are his decisions concerning the realms and the Elder Gods' decisions? The Elder Gods are not to meddle in human affairs as much as possible -- that is unless the said threat is no longer within human capacity or leaves the responsibility to lesser gods such as Raiden. The Jade Emperor himself would always avoid actions that would reunite the One Being. He would also be the one to declare the mandate of the Mortal Kombat tournament -- including the only time that Elder Gods were allowed to directly intervene is when one realm attempts to merge another realm without the necessary 10 victories in Mortal Kombat. He would have been the one to tell Raiden the lines, "...it is the merging of the realms that have been proscribed." He was possibly the one who also ordained the Pyramid of Argus to maintain the flow of Yin and Yang -- without which Armageddon would happen though the balance has been disrupted way too many times.

He would have possibly refused to meddle if doing so would upset the balance or cause one step of the One Being to reunite. Why he seems silent in Mortal Kombat X is unknown -- perhaps it was because Shinnok was easily disposed of. Though in the Mortal Kombat X comic books -- he had taken part in making sure Shinnok isn't released. His decision not to directly intervene feels like the time when the legendary Eight Immortals led by Lu Dong Bin managed to defeat Tong Tian Jiao Zhu themselves. So it's highly possible that he sent Kronika and Geras to make sure that the balance of Yin and Yang is maintained -- something Raiden had disrupted for too long by going full retard since Mortal Kombat (2011).
