There were a couple of hidden fights I wish existed based on a couple of Video Game Lies. This would probably go krazy so avoid if you can...
A more powerful version of Ermac would be a nice treat
Mortal Kombat Secrets |
MK Shaolin Monks succeeded where MK Mythologies: Sub-Zero and MK Special Forces failed. We have a SOLID ADVENTURE GAME. The game started to explore some video game lies AND made them into "reality" in this game. For instance, the Living Forest had to have trees fed with zombies in order to pass, or how the Dead Pool had you uppercut the enemies to the hooks for a gory impalement to proceed. One video game lie was that Ermac could be fought at the first game with a certain procedure at the Warrior Shrine. It was a straight, flat-out lie that was disproven. Yet, somehow, the people at Midway before it was bought by Warner Bros. played with it as well.
The video game lie was partly made true when Ermac was fought at the first tournament. However, the fight happened IN Shang Tsung's throne room. It made me wish that a secret Ermac boss battle were available in the palette swap uniform. It would be interesting IF Netherrealm decided to just do more than, "Here's the rumor, now deal with it." with the Story Mode. Instead, what if they decided to make a non-playable version of Ermac a secret boss?
I think it could be implemented in Shang Tsung's Gardens which is pretty much the "Warrior Shrine" in MK9. It would be a fun thing if you were required to do some semi-difficult task (such as winning the round without kicking) then a non-playable Ermac with SNK stats appear. Make him have his classic UMK3 moves only but make them very damaging. I'd actually love to have that. It'd be cool to have a trophy called "Error Macro".
I'd actually wish Skarlett had a secret boss version of her aside from being a DLC
I didn't find myself fond of using Skarlett one bit. In fact, she's probably among the fighters I neglected ever since she got into MK11. Skarlett (or she was also called Blood) was another rumor that NEVER EXISTED. However, the reboot added her as a DLC character whose role was to serve as one of Shao Kahn's most loyal enforcers. MK11 changed her from nothing more than a genetic experiment to an Outworld orphan given powers by Shao Kahn.
What would be cool if the rumor was somewhat integrated. It could be cool if it happened in The Pit Bottom where there's blood. It might require some ridiculous requirements such as waiting for her to peek at the bloody sites then do a certain combination. I could imagine what it'd be if I had to fight against an overpowered Skarlet. Her blood ball was truly damaging even if it took some of her health. Her teleportation is very annoying. It could be fun if a powered-up NPC version of her. Unlocking her would give the trophy "Bloody Woman".
It might be interesting IF Chameleon or Khameleon returned as a hidden NPC only
Fighting a boss version of Shang Tsung who could morph into several opponents was a challenge. Both characters returned to MK Armageddon using borrowed moves. I guess they weren't really popular enough to return. Meanwhile, I could think of what if NPCs of them were available as secret opponents? The achievements could be called "Chameleon Who?" and "That's Khameleon, Not Chameleon!" to troll the players.
My preferred way to access them might require more difficulty. I think it would require one to win the game with no rounds and each round ends with a fatality. What happens next is that one must defeat the sub-bosses below 60 minutes per round. If done right, one can enter a button combination such as Up + Start or Up + Select to access either boss. Both characters would be fought before Shao Kahn.
It would be interesting if the NPCs would morph into color swaps. They would be given SNK Boss stats as well. I guess though the two characters were probably even more unpopular than Kintaro. I may not be afraid I actually like Kintaro. However, I felt both were just lame gimmicks. Then again, I felt they had the potential to be bonus content though for MK9.

Pretty much that's just about it!
