Hsu Hao: Hated But Not Exactly A Slouch In Second Timeline

Mortal Kombat like any game, would always have a history of ups and downs. Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance was a daring experiment, but one can say that it was a game with JUNK CHARACTERS. One of these characters is Hsu Hao of the Red Dragon. The Red Dragon clan in Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance was an interesting concept. The Red Dragon was also a PLOT DEVICE meant to make Kano look cooler. Hsu Hao may get a lot of hate. However, the Red Dragon's Hsu Hao, as hated as he is, actually HAD A SERIES OF PRETTY DIGNIFIED DEATHS.

Hsu Hao was an interesting concept DONE BADLY. The fact that Hsu Hao originally had his cybernetic heart ripped off by Jax -- wasn't just a random thing! Hsu Hao actually was a DANGEROUS INFILTRATOR for the Red Dragon in the Special Forces. Hsu Hao died while in the line of duty! It was an honorable way to kill an OTHERWISE HATED CHARACER.

The reboot timeline from Mortal Kombat (2011) to Mortal Kombat 11 didn't feature the Red Dragon. Kano would be MORE POPULAR. The Mortal Kombat X comic book series was a bridge towards the 20-year gap between Shinnok's foiled invasion (which was rushed) and the events involving the Kombat Kids. It's interesting that the Red Dragon was given less importance. However, Mavado and Hsu Hao were made into GENUINE THREATENING JOBBERS. Mavado completed a mission before getting killed by Cassie Cage WITH THE FORMER'S HOOKSWORD.

Hsu Hao's death in the Mortal Kombat X comic is a highly powerful one. Hsu Hao had defeated FAN FAVORITE KENSHI. Hsu Hao is cemeted as a THREAT even if he and Mavado aren't popular characters. Hsu Hao could've won if HANZO SCORPION DIDN'T SHOW UP. Hsu Hao goes from one moment STOPPING KENSHI'S SWORD to getting slaughtered by Hanzo Scorpion in the next. In short, he was given a DEATH WORTHY OF A WARRIOR.

This would be FAR DIFFERENT from what happened to Moloch and Drahmin. Moloch and Drahmin NEVER HAD A COMPETENT STORY before they were executed. Moloch and Drahmin meet Hanzo Scorpion with Havik's head. Having Quan Chi just order their executions JUST LIKE THAT was a total insult. The fact Quan Chi carries Moloch's head in an intro and CASUALLY TOSSES IT AWAY IS SOMETHING. Sure, Erron Black had Hsu Hao's head but the former wouldn't just kill anyone if the character wasn't a serious threat.

There's some hatred for Hsu Hao and, to an extent, Mavado. However, Hsu Hao has always been recognized as a SERIOUS THREAT.
