The Street Fighter American Cartoon Cammy/Bison Plot Was Pure WTF (And Honestly?)

The Street Fighter American cartoon was somewhat lucky to still have a SECOND SEASON despite how terrible the first season was. The second season started adding characters from Street Fighter Alpha, such as Akuma having his actual role but all too cartoony, and it was on February 3, 1996. I thought that the second season was even more convoluted, and it was like, "Was it worth it renewing a contract with Capcom and paying more royalty rights?"

The second season had the "Cammy Arc," which is separated into:

• "Cammy and the Bachelor"
  
• "Cammy Must Die"
  
• "Cammy Tell Me True", which is the FINAL episode

The plot had Cammy, who was later revealed as a brainwashed double agent for Shadaloo. What freaks me out is how Bison made Cammy into his lover (despite the huge age gap, and Bison is apparently in his 50s) via brainwashing. Also, to no surprise in the finale, Cammy discovers Bison murdered her parents, and she's but a plaything. I thought it was probably too random that Bison took a 17-year-old girl and had Dr. Dhalsim (which was clearly a reference to the 1994 movie role that Dhalsim had) inject her with mind-altering drugs. Was it really just for shock value?

The second season's set of episodes had terrible sequencing. In-between every plot of Cammy's defection, there is ONE BAD FILLER AFTER THE NEXT. I thought about how badly done the plot progression was. In fact, it got so cheesy that Bison becomes more of a caricature.

In fact, I thought the final episode "Cammy Tell Me True" was incredibly stupid. Bison's desire to "destroy the world" by launching all nuclear missiles at once felt like a cosmic tantrum than anything. In fact, the way he even mentioned that he killed his own father and "not whine about it" was like, "Wait, wut?" It's not that I was shocked at Bison's patricide. Instead, Bison's own way of saying it felt like he was actually lying out of impulse than proudly admitting to a wrongdoing.

Either way, the American Street Fighter cartoon is all that bad, its finale spoke volumes that it certainly was a panicked closing!
