Why I Think Palpatine Is Probably Anakin's Father One Way Or Another (Legends Only)

 Right now, here's my theory that would try to fit more with the LEGENDS timeline than what I'd dare call the mutilated Disney timeline. Damn Disney - do you have to keep ruining childhoods? Anyway, let's get it straight to why I think Palpatine could be Anakin's father. If we want to try and get more similarities let's go to the EXPANDED UNIVERSE not the Disney Continuity. Let's get started shall we? All sources here are usually from the Star Wars Wiki.

Everything can start with Anakin Skywalker

An early revelation is that Palpatine had a passion for racing. Where would that be passed down? To Anakin! Then Luke would have a passion for piloting. Somehow, it runs in the family, doesn't it? Not to mention the tendency to fall into the Dark Side. This would make you think if Palpatine did create Anakin magically (or through sexual intercourse) then you can think of how many of these traits are passed.

There's a lot of stuff in common between them. Palpatine has curly, wavy hair in The Phanton Menace. Guess who gets that kind of hair in Revenge of the Sith? Anakin! I even think of the novelization where Palpatine starts to regard Anakin as a son. Heck, Revenge of the Sith even has Palpatine calling Anakin as "son" out of the blue. Doesn't that sound like something to be fishy? Even some comics have him having great interest in the boy. this is almost like him discovering another son he had. It's also verified that he Triclops in his youth. Whether or not he knew of Triclops' existence back then isn't confirmed.

Here's a video that reveals a script that would have been included but was somehow left out or left audiences to decide. Revenge of the Sith somehow still implies that Palpatine is indeed Anakin's father either biologically or through the use of Force experiments. That alone would be chilling.

One of the most eerie things that one may notice is how Palpatine looked like in Dark Empire. Artist's interpretation or purposely done? Some people may look alike but aren't related. However, the reborn Emperor Palpatine freakishly looks like Anakin Skywalker of all people! The whole connection in Dark Empire could eventually prove the paternity line back to Palpatine once and for all. 

Luke Skywalker is possibly another proof

So let's get to Luke first. How could Luke's attribute prove that he could actually be Palpatine's grandson? I'd like to imagine him in the same predicament as Jin Kazama in Tekken with Darth Vader as Kazuya and Palpatine as Heihachi. So why did Obi-Wan Kenobi now think of raising the son of Skywalker as a Jedi? Why is Palpatine so interested in making sure Luke turns to the Dark Side even if it would mean doubling the chances of death? It's probably all in the family.

Luke's connection to Palpatine didn't really end in Return of the Jedi but in Dark Empire. He easily became an apprentice and was too easily dissuaded to the Dark Side. What should also be interesting is that prior to Palpatine's resurrection - it's said that the glove of Darth Vader would be proof of the heir of the Empire. The Supreme Prophet Kadaan (mentioned only) said that the heir would wear that glove. But why go after such a stinking old glove? It wouldn't make too much sense unless Anakin were actually Palpatine's heir though Triclops could contest that claim also.

What should be very shocking is the existence of Ken the Jedi Prince. Palpatine sired an illegitimate child (maybe through the Force) with some other woman. What's even more amazing is that both Luke and Ken sort of look alike! Palpatine, Anakin, and Luke all have blue eyes and dark blonde hair. If they could easily recognize each other through the Force then that would mean they're half-cousins if both Anakin and Triclops are paternal half-brothers! 

So is it possible that Palpatine actually arranged the marriage of Luke and Mara Jade from the beginning? Possibly! My theory was that Mara Jade was sent to test Luke and maybe, the two would be matched from the beginning to form a more powerful child since they're both Force sensitives. If Palpatine were to play matchmaker and Luke is his grandson then it would also explain why he planned to use their marriage to produce a child with a higher possibility of going into the Dark Side. 

Princess Leia as another piece of the puzzle

I'd also like to bring up Leia's attributes to how she could prove Palpatine is Anakin's father and why in the world would she also prove that she could be Palpatine's granddaughter?

The new Emperor wannabe Trioculus once claimed that he was the son of Palpatine but that claim was too easily refuted. He was not even Force-sensitive and why did he want to get Leia for his queen? It's almost like the plot to why Jafar wanted to marry Princess Jasmine in Aladdin or why Olban in Daimos wanted to marry Erika. It's all about LEGITIMIZATION. With Luke out of the way then Leia would be the last person standing, right? 

In Dark Empire, Leia once again played an important part. Guess who were the only two characters who could defeat the resurrected Palpatine in his prime? Luke and Leia! Leia nearly turned into the Dark Side as well so easily. More importantly, Palpatine was later told that he had to possess the body of Anakin Solo as his last chance. Now why in the world would ancient Sith lords of the past tell Palpatine to possess the body of a baby? Why did Palpatine need clone bodies? It's simple: DNA! By tampering the DNA then Palpatine can't use the clone bodies. What's more interesting is that Palpatine mentioned that the Dark Side runs in the Skywalker Blood - hinting he was revealing that he's the paternal grandfather of the twins!

After several years, Leia would become the new Supreme Chancellor of the New Republic. This should give you a bit of a question? Where would Leia get that ability? Her mother Padme? It's ridiculous! Padme was a Senator but never rose up to higher ranks. If Palpatine were her paternal grandfather (though funny how neither Anakin or Palpatine felt she was a Force sensitive) then that may explain why she's so good at politics. Somewhere along the line, there had to be a Supreme Chancellor and who else would that be? Palpatine!

Palpatine was so right in saying the Dark Side actually is strong in the Skywalker family. It really starts to make sense! Jacen Solo fell into the Dark Side and became Darth Cadeus and would even attempt to turn his cousin Ben Skywalker to the Dark Side. This should be very chilling that the Skywalkers do have that curse! So it looks like it's a curse that they have to fight if Palpatine were their ancestor himself!

So in a way, it's time to think about it - the ultimate irony that the Skywalkers are in fact descendants of a dark sider!
