The Double Life Of Palpatine/Darth Sidious In The Star Wars Prequel Trilogy

Image
Today is May 4th also called Star Wars Day . I'd like to give some tribute to one of the most-developed villains in movie history - Darth Sidious aka Emperor Palpatine. Some people back then debated if Palpatine was Sidious. However, it's plain obvious by the chin or by the voice that Palpatine IS Darth Sidious. Palpatine's conversation with the Trade Federation hinted that its members knew they were hired by a senator. The boldness of the Trade Federation may be a result of them knowing that Darth Sidious was really Palpatine. I even think Grevious took extra caution so as not to harm Palpatine during the "kidnapping". Palpatine's unusual bravado in The Clone Wars was too obviously a staged kidnapping. Before the novel Darth Plagueis was released (which I think was a bad plot twist or not) - Palpatine was definitely that hidden malignant presence. In fact, Count Dooku even mentioned to Obi-Wan Kenobi that the Senate was already under the control of the Dark ...

The Hilariously Funny Deleted Voice Of Darth Vader Sounds Like Dark Helmet

Image
Before James Earl Jones voiced Darth Vader (and that was before JEJ became Movie Thulsa in Conan the Barbarian ) - we have the late David Prowse. Prowse was the suit actor and JEJ was the voice actor. Prowse' voice sounds like DARK HELMET - a villain acted by Rick Moranis. Sure, a lot of these people are already old but they gave their best in their younger years.  Meanwhile, we have Dark Helmet whose helmet does the EXACT opposite of Darth Vader's. There was no reason for Dark Helmet to wear that helmet. I guess Rick was chosen was to play Dark Helmet because of a similar voice.  Sadly, Ucchu Sentai Kyuranger decided to rip off Return of the Jedi instead of Spaceballs . I mean, it'd be funny if a Dark Helmet proxy frequently lived in fear of Don Armage's terrible temper. After all, the main character is named Lucky - an obvious parody of the hero Lucky Starr by Paul Asimov. Spaceballs would create Lone Starr.

Why I Think Palpatine Is Probably Anakin's Father One Way Or Another (Legends Only)

Image
Right now, here's my theory that would try to fit more with the LEGENDS timeline than what I'd dare call the mutilated Disney timeline. Damn Disney - do you have to keep ruining childhoods? Anyway, let's get it straight to why I think Palpatine could be Anakin's father. If we want to try and get more similarities let's go to the EXPANDED UNIVERSE, not the Disney Continuity. Let's get started shall we? All sources here are usually from the Star Wars Wiki . Everything can start with Anakin Skywalker An early revelation is that Palpatine had a passion for racing. Where would that be passed down? To Anakin! Then Luke would have a passion for piloting. Somehow, it runs in the family, doesn't it? Not to mention the tendency to fall into the Dark Side. This would make you think if Palpatine did create Anakin magically (or through sexual intercourse) then you can think of how many of these traits are passed. There's a lot of stuff in common between them. ...

Is Palpatine's Presence In "The Rise Of Skywalker" Just A Clear Sign Of Desperation By Disney?

Image
Is it me or does Disney really RUIN everything now? Marvel is ruined by them with SJW agenda. Now, I even think they've ruined ALMOST. EVERY. CLASSIC. they made themselves. Now, it's time to think about how Star Wars itself is ruined by Disney one way or another. I really find the Disney Canon to be dull and uninspired in contrast to the Legends Canon. Yes, the Legends Canon by George Lucas. I could understand if Disney wanted to make their own Star Wars continuity to avoid conflict with the Legends Canon but it's not really worth a drop. Now, it's time to consider that Disney may have had the nasty habit of trying to bail itself out at the superficial level. Palpatine is indeed returning for The Rise of Skywalker, which is just a bailout for me. Everybody in the Star Wars fandom just loves Palpatine as a villain, right? If there's any Star Wars villain I'd say is also iconic aside from Darth Vader (who's apparently more popular) then it's Darth Sid...

Why The Destruction Of Alderaan Was A HUGE MISTAKE!

Image
I remembered Star Wars: A New Hope when the Death Star was completed. I would say that Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin's biggest mistake was to think that the Death Star alone would make sure that the empire would be in check. Palpatine was a little bit more smart to make sure that Tarkin kept an eye on Vader and vice versa considering that either one of them might use the weapon against him.  The problem with destroying Alderaan is plan and simple: it's an overkill. It's like trying to blow up an entire forest to kill one's hunt instead of finding a logical way to kill one's prey. It could have been enough to execute Princess Leia Organa as an example for her betrayal of the Imperial Senate. But no, Grand Moff Tarkin got too confident and decided to blow off Alderaan anyway.  Not only is the destruction of the whole planet an overkill but it's also destroying a source of income for the empire. Would the empire just simply chose to execute figures in Aldera...

My Rage Awakens: Is It Me Or Is Disney Really Ruining Almost Everyone's Childhood Whenever They Buy Franchises?!

Image
Make no mistake. I really, REALLY hate Disney now or do I? I want to give my thoughts on the devastating events that really affected my childhood. Last 2009 was the year of Samurai Sentai Shinkenger but it was also the year F***ing Disney bought Marvel. 2002 was the year when Disney acquired the rights to Power Rangers and ever since then I have no reason to watch Power Rangers. Disney gave me reasons to go away from Power Rangers. Now it's giving me a good reason to move away from Marvel and Star Wars. So what's next? Disney ruined Power Rangers especially with the Kalish era I don't deny that I'm not a Power Rangers fan so this wouldn't be so much of a fair analysis. But I could at least give reasons why Disney gave me good reasons not to watch Power Rangers. Whether it's the Bruce Kalish era or whatever I'm having some good reasons not to watch Power Rangers. What I didn't like about Disney's Power Rangers era would be it's too rus...

My Personal Thoughts On Disney Then And Now!

Image
There's no doubt that I did grow up with Disney. It was responsible for some cartoon movies I grew up with like Cinderella, Snow White, Little Mermaid Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast. But a lot of these changed. Adaptations aren't necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes, deviating from the original material does wonders since some fairy tales were really just too tragic or too brutal. Who wouldn't prefer Ariel to be with Prince Eric? Who would want to watch Lady Tremaine force her daughters to cut their toes off? I don't think anybody would and sometimes toning things down is the way to go because too much dark and edgy can be a bad thing. I started having a lot of dislike or even hatred toward Disney later in my life. I don't think it started with Disney's Hercules. Sure Disney's Hercules wasn't great but at least they were recovering after that. The problem is with the Hannah Montana era. That show was so freaking annoying and it went on and on because...

Possible Star Wars References In Megaman X?

Image
After playing the Megaman X all over again (out of boredom), I just want to share these tidbits of possible Star Wars references. Here they are: The most obvious one is Vile. Vile's name in Japan is VAVA so I guess like the whole Mike Bison/M. Bison controversy, they decided to rename him as Vile for the American audiences. The design is obvious: Vile is based on Boba Fett of Star Wars. As a character, he can be viewed as an evil version of Protoman or a combined version of Protoman and the Darkman Robot. Like Protoman, he's a defective unit that Sigma recruited as a lapdog. Sigma may have some similarities with the famous Star Wars villain namely Emperor Palpatine or Darth Sidious. Before the rebellion, he appeared as a respected public figure then he later becomes known as a bloodthirsty tyrant. He wields a lightsaber similar to that of Star Wars (and Zero would later be known for wielding a lightsaber as well). In Megaman X4 , he appears as a mysterious cloaked ...

Similarities Between Anakin Skywalker and Claude Frollo

Image
Actually I'd like to do a comparison of Anakin Skywalker and obviously the novel version of Claude Frollo.  So where do I start?  Here they are: Both are vowed to celibate positions.  Anakin Skywalker is a Jedi and Claude Frollo is an Archdeacon.  Both of them despite their vows to celibacy yet they have fallen for a certain woman.  In Anakin Skywalker's case, it was really love with Padme Amidala (who his five years his senior) and he did care about her.  Claude Frollo was slowly lusting after Esmeralda (who is probably 25 years or younger his junior) which is different from Anakin Skywalker's.   Both had noble intentions that ended in tragedy.  Both of them saw each other as righteous, nothing wrong with them and they are better than everyone else yet both took wrong directions.  Anakin Skywalker ended up going to the dark side and Claude Frollo did plenty of things in the novel that even the more sinister version of Claude Fro...

Palpatine in Star Wars

Image
If there's any villain in Star Wars that's really bad-ass and deserves a tribute, it's the Sith lord Darth Sidious otherwise known as Palpatine. Though he was a total mystery, all that was known was that he was a human raised by Darth Plagueis whom he killed after learning the secret to manipulate the Force to create life, hence he may have been Anakin Skywalker's "father". So there hasn't been any clue of whether or not Shmi Skywalker was his slave but there is a possibility. Maybe during the time he raised a Zabrak to his apprentice he dubbed as Darth Maul, he was a successful senator but known also for his lasciviousness. He had some relationships possibly with slave girls and he fathered Triclops along the way. So perhaps during that time, he may have also sired Anakin Skywalker either by the Force or natural conception but that's just my speculation. So that may make Triclops the half-brother of Anakin Skywalker since Ken, Triclops' son ...

Anakin's Father in Star Wars... Could It Be?

Image
When watching Revenge of the Sith, I thought of it what Palpatine told Anakin Skywalker, the power of Darth Plagueis the Wise. It was the power to influence the midi-chlorians to produce life. So maybe it's a myth. So let's think about it- Palpatine/Darth Sidious was under the apprenticeship of Darth Plagueis, who had learned everything. So thinking about it, so did Palpatine really succeed in influencing the midi-chlorians once and only once- to create Anakin Skywalker? So what if Palpatine happens to have sired another bastard son through Shmi Skywalker after he sired Triclops in his earlier years. Possible! Or maybe he lied about the midi-chlorians and produced Anakin Skywalker the natural way.  Either way, he's an uncaring father who only produced illegitimate children for his own selfish ends. Here are somethings I've considered: Palpatine, Anakin Skywalker, Luke Skywalker and Ben Skywalker are all fair skinned, dark blond haired, blue eyed, dimpled Force ...

Jabba the Hutt's Bizarre Attraction in Star Wars

Image
One thing that intrigued me in Star Wars was Jabba the Hutt's bizarre attraction to non-Hutt women. So okay Hutts are said to be hermaphrodite but had a personality they chose, so in Jabba's case, his father asexually reproduced him so his father was also his mother. Yet in one case, Gardulla was a female Hutt and Anachro. So that's a hiccup in the writing. Let's focus on Jabba the Hutt. Jabba the Hutt was known to be attracted to women, not of his kind. His favorites were mainly Twi'leks and the most infamous was Oola, the daughter of a lowly chieftain. In the past, he also had other Twi'lek slaves. They were probably eaten by the Rancor if he got bored with them and found another. It was unknown how many human girls he had with defiled as well. One attraction orchestrated Jabba's demise - that was with Leia Organa. Unknown to him, Leia had herself captured on purpose so she could kill him. He was enamored with her and that became his end. He und...

The Star Wars Film

For one thing, Star Wars has been described as a geeky film. Hmmm and to think of it, I enjoyed all six films. So that means I'm a geek in some way. So anyway, I thought of it that the films themselves have been written in such a way, that describes a space adventure with a LOT of real concepts into it- especially in the arena of politics. The story is focused on the light vs. the darkness which took place in the Jedi battles against the dark force users. So we have the Jedi prophecy of the "chosen one" which was said to be Anakin Skywalker. Of course, in the third episode, Palpatine may actually be Anakin Skywalker's "father" if he figured out how to arrange the midi-chlorians in a way that life could be conceived in a woman's womb, or perhaps Palpatine is really his father. These were all the prequel trilogy to explain the existence of episodes 4, 5 and 6. I just find it weird how 4, 5 and 6 came out first then 1, 2 and 3. If there was any villa...
