Megaman Legends: The Reaverbots' Somewhat Unexplained Role

I'm still inclined to believe that Megaman Legends is separate from the Classic Megaman series. It's because Barrell's diary reveals that Megaman Volnutt was found as a BABY and was called by Roll CASKETT by such -- after one of her favorite video game character. References from here and there suggest that the Classic Megaman timeline is a FICTION WITHIN A FICTION. A lot of stuff couldn't even fit into the OG timeline. One of them would be the Reaverbots. The Reaverbots are enemies found n the ruins. Call them the third wheel of the Megaman Legends franchise as they're enemies to both Megaman Volnutt and the Bonnes!

Capcom has had a habit of releasing prequel games. For example, Megaman 7-8 were released sometime after the first Megaman X series. Megaman 9-11 were released sometime after Megaman X8. It seems Megaman ZX is an attempt to put the what could've been separate timeline into the Classic Megaman timeline. Ironically, Megaman Legends 3 never came to be and it could've wrapped up that series before cancellation.

The Reaverbots were presumably created by the Master's system. One may consider them like the Mechaniloids of the Megaman X series. Megaman Volnutt's previous existence as Megaman Trigger was to hunt down Aberrant Units. Apparently, the Reaverbots could go Aberrant (or Maverick) at any time -- which may explain why the Reaverbots attack diggers. The system existed for 3,000 years -- something that may not even fit into the Classic Megaman timeline. The Master created this "perfect world" that only drove him to boredom.

What were the roles of characters like Megaman Trigger, Megaman Juno (who got his own Expy in Megaman X8 with Lumine), Sera, and Yuna? The Master may have created them to balance things out. However, times changed when the Master faded away and begged Megaman Trigger to destroy the system. Apparently, Megaman Juno had control over the Reaverbots on Kattlelox Island. Elysium was guarded by Reaverbots. All these built some good storytelling that was thrown away when Keiji Inafune left Capcom.

Megaman Legends has Legends Roll telling Legends Megaman on who created the Reaverbots, and that digging felt like stealing. In fact, after several digs, the Legendary Disaster that happens every century, happens. Megaman Juno awakens and threatens to destroy the island population. It also turns out that the Mother Lode (or the Great Legacy) isn't a treasure but a DISASTER waiting to happen. Yuna (in Matilda's body) gave the warning. The Carbons (the default population in Megaman Legends) have sealed their fate. If people didn't go on the digs, then think that Megaman Juno (or even Sera) would've never resurrected either.

Megaman Legends 2 ends with a cliffhanger. Resources for Megaman X: Command Mission could've been allocated for Megaman Legends 3 instead. The Elder System is activated. It could be the chance to create another villain. The villain that may have caused the Reaverbots to become hostile to anyone to enter the Ruins.

Colonel Redip's final form in Megaman X Command Mission looks like a REAVERBOT. That game should've been Megaman Legends 3 instead -- as a way to close the Legends franchise for an indefinite period of time. Redips is Spider spelled backwards. Whether or not there was really a Reploid named Spider before that -- is unknown. Spider's design could've easily fit as an enemy character. Redips would probably be the dreaded Elder System. Seeing Reaverbots rise and attack humans would be this threat as well. If only I voiced out that Redips should've been a Megaman Legends character instead!
