Power Rangers' Unstable History - Saban, Disney, Saban Again, Hasbro... Who's NEXT?!

While I don't want to deny Super Sentai does have its struggles such as trying to get toy sales up, trying to find a way between children and older fans but there's one thing you can't deny -- it's been Toei all throughout! I know Toei has cancelled some things that are probably no longer feasible like the Super Robot Anime series (which probably lost relevance because Super Sentai was able to give more cool toys) or Metal Hero (its decline started in the late 90s so we've got no new entry after Robotack) but will it soon end up doing the same to Power Rangers?

Try to think about it -- the once hit Power Rangers series is not as hit as it used to be. It's been changing co-owners from Saban, to Disney, back to Saban and now Hasbro. I even wonder if Hasbro can even save the franchise with Power Rangers Beast Morphers? Chances are probably slim considering the bad name Power Rangers had for itself.

Want a summary of the timeline of Power Rangers' several idiotic decisions made by the franchise? Here are those decisions before it landed into Hasbro's hands:
  • Overextending Mighty Morphin' for the sake of greed. Toei created 25 additional footage for Saban to use because Power Rangers relies too much on fight footage. Then Saban ended up with Season Two and Season Three which brought Mighty Morphin' nowhere.
  • I just can't understand why some people want to think Zeo is better than Ohranger. Sure, Ohranger is NOT a top masterpiece, it has its problems (such as the change of tone due to real life events) but we have to realize that Ohranger has plenty of better stuff such as no Bulk and Skull, no Dear John Letter and best of all NO JASON DAVID FRANK. JDF is never going to be the same level as Hiroshi Miyauchi -- a man who got so popular yet refused to make himself the face of Toku. Miyauchi always made way for newer talents unlike JDF who's an attention whore. Ohranger is also pretty much a fresh start and sure there's some pointless merchandise overload -- at least it gave a definite, clear story. Useless family? Don't tell me that Bulk and Skull are better as defective detectives!
  • Failing to milk the potential of Lost Galaxy, Lightspeed Rescue and Time Force. I always thought how stuff like suddenly adding Captain Mutiny was a complete unnecessary addition then both Lightspeed Rescue and Time Force are all that rushed so we end up seeing the potential of a good cast go NOWHERE due to the 40 episode format. I wonder what reason do they have for doing that?
  • Selling the franchise to Disney also gave more problems. Disney was notorious for cutting corners by reducing everything from 40 episodes to 38 to even 32 episodes! So really, why are Power Rangers snobs lying the Japanese prefer SPD over Dekaranger? If that were true then the SPD Rangers would've appeared in Kyuranger or we'd get a Gavan vs. SPD movie instead! FOUL!
  • Saban returned and aired it at Nickelodeon. TBH I've stopped watching Nickelodeon already because the quality of the shows have declined. Same has gone with Disney. So what's up with the unnecessary splitting up of a show into two seasons huh Nickelodeon? That again didn't repair an already broken product! Now you've got Power Rangers snobs spreading the obvious lie that Japanese prefer Power Rangers Samurai over the hit Shinkenger? Once again FOUL!
  • After Saban tried to recapture Power Rangers with the Krusty Krab magic -- did he even realize that the Krusty Krab can't survive in real life? Let's face it let the Krusty Krab exist and Jollibee, Burger King, McDonald's and Army Navy for starters. They would totally own the Krusty Krab!

Power Rangers' uncertain future is still certain about one thing -- it's that whoever owns the Power Rangers brand must pay the rightful owners the dues! Saban must pay Toei the royalty fees or risk said contract from getting voided. Disney was subjected to it. Hasbro will still have to pay regardless Beast Morphers makes a profit or it. Hmmm how's the earnings for Power Rangers now huh?! Toei's just going to laugh its way to the bank while the Power Rangers brand collapses onto itself more than once!
