Vile's A Futuristic Version Of The Final Darkman Robot From Megaman 5?

While playing Megaman X and Megaman 5, here's something I've noticed. Vile does look like a revamped version of the Darkman robot. While the Darkman Robot's personality hasn't been defined but I can't deny Vile does seem to be a reference to Darkman. Remember that Megaman X was released before Megaman 7 was created as a prequel game to "bridge" both Classic Megaman and Megaman X.

There were a total of four Darkman robots. The third Darkman is colored purple while the fourth Darkman robot has a nearly similar design to Vile himself minus the head. The third Darkman Robot jumps over and fires shots. Vile does the same in Megaman X. Final Darkman might even be a close prototype to Vile.

Here's something interesting before your fight with the Final Darkman. In Megaman 5, the Final Darkman greatly injures Megaman. Protoman shows up and reveals the imposter, gives Megaman a full life boost and the battle begins. In Megaman X, a darker version happens. Vile defeats Megaman X to the point of near death, Zero sacrifices himself, Megaman X gets a complete life boost and the fight with Vile begins after that.

Design-wise, Vile is almost a version of the Final Darkman robot mounted with the third Darkman's cannon on his shoulder and he's repainted purple. My theory is that Dr. Cain or even Sigma found the Darkman Robot's blueprints from Zero's memory and created Vile out of it. That's just my theory though and don't take it as an official explanation. Hmmm... I wonder if Darkman's AI survived up to the next century? If that's so, it may explain why Vile hates X so much -- it's an even deeper hatred than what Bass would originally possess. But that's impossible considering Vile did start off as a Maverick Hunter until he had a defect going on.

Vile does combine the attack patterns of some of the Darkman robots. He has the third Darkman's attack to leap and fire multiple shots -- in his case, he uses his shoulder-mounted cannon instead. His use of ride armor and charge attacks may be an improved version of the first Darkman's charge attacks. What he's missing though is the ability to generate an electric shield like the second and fourth robots though he also fires straight shots like the fourth robot.
