B-Fighter, B-Fighter Kabuto: A Popular Series Followed Up By A Watchable Mess

Image
I guess I'm ready for another divisive OPINION post. I watched both Juuki B-Fighter followed by B-Fighter Kabuto . The two shows are direct sequels to each other. One show was a hit and the other was a FLOP. Okay, there will be SPOILERS ahead so if you haven't watched both shows - READ AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION. I finished both shows so I'm going to do this weird post. How does this go? I'm going to talk about how B-Fighter ended (and what the show brought up) together with how the show linked the direct sequel. So, unlike Kamen Rider BLACK RX where the hero dons a different suit, we have a new generation of B-Fighters . I guess the failure that's BLACK RX made Toei to swear to never upgrade the heroes and introduce a new hero huh? Still, I can't deny I can enjoy BLACK RX and B-Fighter Kabuto even if I'm totally aware that they're quite messy. It took something as messy as Saban's Masked Rider and Beetleborgs Metallix (which was worse than its previous ...

My Thoughts On B-Fighter's Special Finale As A Possible Distraction

Image
I heard from the comments that the B-Fighter special finale was made due to production delays with B-Fighter Kabuto . Just how true is that? I believe I'll give B-Fighter Kabuto a shot to see if it's as bad as Big Bad Beetleborgs or will I enjoy it like I do with Kamen Rider BLACK RX ? I've watched what I call the "real finale" where Gaohm was finally destroyed, Gaohm leaves his legacy to the world with the Jamahl hole still going (reminds me of Ragorn's final trump card in Kosoku Sentai Turboranger ) and how Blue Beet finally defeats Black Beet. Those were what I'd call the "regular episodes". I even feel that the true finale was where Blue Beet finally defeats Black Beet and the Jamahl hole destroyed.  After that, we get two additional episodes. The setting is where Jamahl is finally defeated, the B-Fighters have their hot spring scene (which will NOT make it past TV-YY-FV), and how two previous shows were brought into the mix. I still feel tha...

Super Blue Beet: That Incredibly BULKY Upgrade That May Have Inspired The Power Rangers Red Ranger Battlizer?

Image
Back then, I remembered watching Really Badly Done Beetleborgs and it did take the Super Blue Beet form. Yes, it was used to defeat the Shadowborg who was demoted to extra. Ironically, Nukus' counterpart in B-Fighter Kabuto was actually a secondary antagonist while Mother Melzard's counterpart was demoted to extra. So yeah, I'm glad I didn't finish Beetleborgs . Though, I'm not going to pretend Toei Ltd. hasn't made mistakes since... WHO HASN'T NOT MADE MISTAKES?! I feel that Super Blue Beet form is rather inflated. It was in 1995 when Choriki Sentai Ohranger and the Buu Saga of Dragon Ball Z were on -air. I'd say that the Buu Saga was nothing more than that overinflated toy commercial .  I wonder why Power Rangers felt copying Blue Beet's upgrade dform was a cool idea. Sure, there are times Power Rangers films their own footages. The Red Ranger Battlizers have been heavily used since Power Rangers in Space and have been used for a lot of seasons. I...

My Thoughts On B-Fighter In 24 Episodes

Image
Okay, I thought that I'd never be able to watch B-Fighter because I already knew of the bonus crossover. I still feel bringing in Janperson and Blue SWAT felt very out of place. I guess some older fans will know that Gramps from Ninninger (that terrible, terrible show) is the mentor here. Not surprisingly, Gramps here has been better utilized as a wise old man than he is later in Ninninger . Gramps also had a reunion with Ryoma Takeuchi in Loving You at the End of the World . Now, I'd like to share my thoughts on the series which I wasn't too enthusiastic about. Remembering Big Badly Done Beetleborgs and other shows I remembered watching Beetleborgs while waiting for Janperson . Beetleborgs was pretty much a weird show with three typical average kids wishing to become their heroes. Flabber turns them into Beetleborgs. It was pretty much a weird show. I did watch it though I ended up dumping it. Yeah, I understand Toei Ltd. gave Saban Entertainment the rights so no matter...

I'm Giving B-Fighter A Shot

Image
I remembered the weird oddity when the masterpiece  Tokosou Janperson  was aired alongside what I'd call the GARBAGE called  Big Badly Done Beetleborgs . It did merit success since it did get its direct sequel with  Beetleborgs Metallix . However, the big difference was that  B-Fighter Kabuto  had a new set of heroes while being a direct successor. I guess people never liked the idea of  Kamen Rider BLACK RX  being Kotaro Minami until Saban's  Mashed Rider  was just that bad. Back then, I even remembered the whole trailer that said, "With special guest Janperson." who was named as guest character Karato while Bill Goldy was Goldex. One must admit  Janperson  might be Robocop Lite BUT it wouldn't pass for a children's show on Fox Kids.  Beetleborgs  had children being fans of the comics and wished they became the heroes. Bad news as the Magnavores manages to escape. The story was different in  B-Fighter...

Something on B-Fighter...

While I did enjoy Beetleborgs for awhile but this show totally made me consider Beetleborgs to be a garbage show eventually.  So here's a little bit of B-Fighter- you don't have three typical average kids who free the ghost to make them B-Fighter, no not that!  So here's how it goes- invaders from another world known as Jamahl (Magnavores in Beetleborgs) are about to enter our dimension and three youngsters get chosen to fight them.  So what makes it even cooler is that it's no comic book coming to life enemies but rather REAL LIFE threatening situations, no annoying Flabber but rather we have... Warning: SPOILERS below... Insect Elder Guru who granted the B-Fighters their powers.  No they didn't free him from a pipe organ, he was really there.  So he was aware of the threat of Jamahl so he called them. Professor Kenzou Mukai who worked as the mentor.  He does look like an uncle of mine. :P  He was the mentor at Academia.  I've seen this ...
