Why I Think "Beast Morphers" Should've Been Contained In The RPM Universe Instead Of A Huge Throwback Fest

Image
It's been five years and some months after Power Rangers Beast Morphers aired. If Nickelodeon's bad scheduling is one issue with its unnecessary summer break -- I'm also going to bring up the real potential killer. Yes, I'm talking about how Power Rangers is a franchise that's really stuck with the Mighty Morphin' hype. By now, a lot of fans would've grown up and the rose-tinted glasses aren't gonna work anymore.  I read through Dryed Mangoez and it was the blog that taught me to get out of my closet Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters shell, learn to like an unpopular Toku season, and appreciate Ressha Sentai ToQGer . It also wrote a scathing remark against Beast Morphers -- which should be the company's fault over the cast. This really hits the mark where Beast Morphers really went wrong: Beast Morphers as a whole does not do that. When the endgame has to do more with pandering to the older, rose-colored glasses-wearing fans by referencing a season that is ...

When Ichiro Mizuki's Demise Also Reminds Me Of Beast Morphers' Own Spin Of Tategami Li-Oh As Beast-X King Zord

Image
The recent death of Ichiro Mizuki would remind me of his guest appearance in Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters . Who'd have thought that his role ten years ago would predict HIS OWN DEATH ten years later? Now, it's time to give some praise to Power Rangers Beast Morphers . I could go ahead and keep pointing out how I feel Power Rangers keeps relying on TOO MANY THROWBACKS . What in the world was Hasbro thinking? I even felt that Haim Saban's return was ruined by it since Power Rangers Samurai .  Rather than do a word-for-word translation - I enjoy the creative liberty that Beast Morphers placed. For one, Beast Morphers has been, in some way, trying to be different from Go-Busters  which is a positive. What I'm not liking is how the series still links to Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers in a very blatant way as well as the other series. It even had to link to Power Rangers RPM when Evox is not surprisingly Venjix. I wonder was it even necessary for Colonel Truman to appear at ...

Wacky Post: Why I Felt Zoey Reeves Is A Better Character Than Yoko Usami

Image
Henshin Grid I remembered writing my rant on Beast Morphers' good points and missed potential . I must also confess that I ended up enjoying neither Ryusoulger nor Beast Morphers in the long run . I've prepared some random rants between Beast Morphers and its source material Go-Busters . I felt I wanted to make this an individual WACKY post that I want to write for fun. It's known that I dislike Power Rangers but I ended up watching a few seasons. I did drop Megaforce due to how dull it is (and better rewatch Shinkenger instead for eye candy plus plot) and I ended up dropping Dino Charge since I'm no fan of Kyoryuger either. Ninja Steel just plain sucks since Victor and Monty make Takaharu look like a genius. I decided to check out what Hasbro could do with Beast Morphers and there are still some good points. It's like how I think Lightspeed Rescue's calm leadership approach is better than having a Drill Sergeant Nasty. I think about how Yasuko Kobayashi tends t...

Beast Morphers' Good Points And Missed Potential

Image
It's been ten years since Go-Busters actually aired. I don't know what Hasbro was thinking when they decided to adapt Go-Busters and make Beast Morphers out of it. Toei Ltd. gave the blessing (and right now, I think I've got issues with Toei which is trying to go Japanese-exclusive) and we get this show. The show's still subjected to the idiotic summer break (something Super Sentai thankfully doesn't do) and the 44 episodes run in total. Right now, I want to look at what could be the missing potential of this show. I'll try not to be biased since I usually end up disliking Power Rangers even if I'm aware Toei Ltd. is also part of it. It's pretty much I also dislike some of Toei's releases, I also dislike some Super Sentai seasons and I feel Super Sentai isn't as good as it used to be. The setting of Beast Morphers itself is Coral Harbor. A new form of energy called Morph-X is created as new green alternative energy - straight from the Morphin...

So The Venjix Virus Infected Toei Ltd.'s Database?

Image
So I was thinking about how Power Rangers Beast Morphers (no surprise at all) made Evox as a reformatted Venjix. Though before that, some vibes from Power Rangers RPM entered into Super Sentai with Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters . No surprise, Judd Lynn is a fan of the series. Toei Ltd. brought in Go-Busters with some Power Rangers references such as "It's morphin' time" and calling every robot a Megazord. Mirai Sentai Timeranger brought in an enemy mecha called the G-Zord. Yasuko Kobayashi was also the writer of the first official TV crossover for Super Sentai and Kamen Rider. Venjix was defeated in RPM (though the show only lasted for 32 episodes which are just rushed) but he wasn't destroyed. There was a hint that Venjix would return. In Beast Morphers, he even managed to cross dimensions and entered the mainline universe since RPM belonged to a different continuity. That makes me imagine that Venjix actually crossed Toei Ltd.'s database and infected it! My im...

Finally Caught Up With Beast Morphers And Hasbro's Next Power Rangers Plan

Image
Ever since Hasbro bought the rights to Power Rangers from Saban - I still wonder is it a good thing? Granted, Saban's really been operating on a Krusty Krab mindset since Samurai   then you know things won't look good. Then, you have Power Rangers skipping seasons such as when Go-Busters was skipped last 2013 in favor of Kyoryuger. Dino Charge for me was the only tolerable one though the whole summer hiatus has to be THAT stupid. Yup, Nickelodeon's summer hiatus is one good reason why I didn't only delete my slapstick fic - it's also another good reason to scream about frozen revenues when the money could've rolled in for Toei. Ninja Steel was even worse dumpster fire than Ninninger. If Ninninger made me skeptical if Super Sentai can still survive - Ninja Steel made me skeptical if Power Rangers can still survive . Now, we've got Hasbro's first direction with Power Rangers (though I wonder why Saban's name is still plastered on it rather than Hasb...

Beast Morphers Is Still Stuck With Nickelodeon's Sh*tty Summer Break And Season 1-Season 2 Format

Image
I thought I'd say goodbye to Beast Morphers but I decided to give it a shot to see how Hasbro can handle it. I don't know why the word "Saban's" is still in the title though. Did Toei just let that technicality pass now that their American partnership is with Hasbro? Or does Saban still have a partnership with Toei except now Hasbro is part of it? I decided to try watching Beast Morphers (but no episode reviews, sorry) considering that I still have had that soft spot for Lost Galaxy (though it's hardened somewhat due to Flashman which is a totally different show), Lightspeed Rescue , and Time Force . Side note, I still wish that both Lightspeed Rescue and Time Force were given 10 more episodes to develop everyone -- it suffers from the same pacing issues as did Metalder which I heard was canceled due to lower viewership from children! As far as the show is concerned -- I wouldn't call it total garbage or terrible. In fact, it's a huge improvement ...

Beast Morphers' Ben And Betty

Image
One of the many reasons why I don't like Power Rangers is the tendency to add comic relief characters that usually go nowhere. Power Rangers Ninja Steel had its own comic disasters known as Victor and Monty -- they're even far worse than Bulk and Skull. Now are we seriously transporting Cassidy and Devin from the overrated Dino Thunder to create the siblings Ben and Betty? The first episode just shows how the writers may just intend to waste them. I can stand comic relief but not when it goes to the point like Bulk and Skull from MMPR to Zeo, Professor Calamitious errr Phenomenus from PR in Space to Lost Galaxy, Casidy and Devin from Dino Thunder, Boom from SPD, Spike from Samurai, Cassidy and Devin then it's really not worth it. I always find it to be rather humiliating than funny if you're tasked to play such roles -- such as when Ben and Betty nearly injured the mayor or their stun gun that doesn't work. So really, what's with the writers with how they ar...

My First Impressions And Concerns For Power Rangers Beast Morphers

Image
Power Rangers Beast Morphers has begun and I thought I'd skip it (and maybe I won't even bother to sit down that LONG) but I'd like to give some criticisms. Hasbro has taken over yet I wonder why it's still STUCK IN NICKELODEON?! Yup, I'm looking at you Nick for ruining many beloved classics such as how Spongebob is no longer funny (and it should've been cancelled long ago to avoid ruining more childhoods of those who once enjoyed it), Fairly Oddparents' new characters are anything but interesting or somehow the network's bad decision making is a good reason why producer Butch Hartman left the network. Now, I'd like to raise my valid concerns on the first episode.  The first episode has been focused on 100% American footage but we know many mecha and certain in-suit fight scenes (and I always find the transition between PR unmorphed fights to Japanese footage to be just plain weird) will end up using lots of Japanese footage in later episodes....

Power Rangers' Splitting Headache Still Continued By Beast Morphers

Image
Just reading how Power Rangers is stuck with the regular/super formula SINCE 2011 hasn't been Super. So really, why do we have to even have that SUPER UNNECESSARY summer break then we get the Super season? Power Rangers is pretty fine running WITHOUT a break. If it ain't broken then don't fix it but why are we seriously getting the summer break huh Nickelodeon?  This really makes me want to really further badmouth Nickelodeon as reported by Power Rangers Now : Power Rangers Beast Morphers is staying true to Nickelodeon’s format. When Power Rangers Beast Morphers premieres in 2019, it will air 22 episodes. This follows the same format the franchise has rolled out over the previous 8 years – with 20 episodes airing alongside two holiday themed specials: one geared towards Halloween, and another geared towards Christmas. Each episode will have a 30 minute runtime, with commercials. While not a format fans have loved, it’s a format fans have become accustomed to da...

Can We Just Stop Adding "Go Go Power Rangers" To Every Post-Disney Power Rangers Season?

Image
Go Go Power Rangers? Well I hate to admit it but I'm getting tired of hearing "Go Go Power Rangers" in EVERY post-Disney season. So I wonder is Hasbro just distributing or what? The credits still say Haim Saban and Toei Ltd. so I guess they are still involved. Why doesn't Toei even step in and STOP it? It's already 2019 and why are we still putting "Go Go Power Rangers" into EVERY post-Disney season since Power Rangers Samurai? In truth, Dino Charge should have also avoided putting "Go Go Power Rangers" since it was actually deviating from the Mighty Morphin' hype! Perhaps what makes me dislike Power Rangers even more is why in the world is it riding on the Mighty Morphin' hype? While I'm getting critical about Toei's latest decision to use dinosaurs (again) with Ryuusoulger (though it's too early to judge how the show will do) -- I am way more critical with Power Rangers now still getting into the Mighty Morphin' ...

Can Hasbro Really Save Power Rangers With Beast Morphers?!

Image
With Power Rangers Beast Morphers just around the corner -- it's amazing to see how backwards Power Rangers has become one way or another. It's freaking 2019 and why are they localizing or adapting something from way back in 2012?! I even want to ask whether or not Hasbro can really save Power Rangers. Why I want to ask that question is because of the fact that Power Rangers is really getting worse  whether it's Disney's rush seasons or Nickelodeon's fully unnecessary two season split. What's amazing is that whether it's the Disney rush season or the current season -- Power Rangers still survives even if it was already getting worse starting with the Disney era and the Neo-Saban era made it even worse. I was thinking about my history with Hasbro and how they are responsible for several franchises such as the Transformers series and G.I.Joe for starters. Maybe, some of you who were 90s children could remember the highly successful Conan the Adventurer. No...
