Cole Could've Been Better Off As An Animal Protection Officer IMHO

Image
No. 1 Sentai Gozyuger caused me to think about Power Rangers Wild Force as well. I may no longer like Power Rangers,  but there were a few series that I could still like. Wild Force had some potentially better moments . I was looking at the deleted scene where Cole Evans was supposed to become a veterinarian. It feels weird considering he was raised in the jungle. However, Cole could use his ESP to know what animals need. That might've given him a free pass in superhero logic -- since his ESP is but Plot Armor. Cole becomes a veterinarian, but that scene was DELETED. However, there's a glimpse in Alyssa Enrile's table (and she's become a teacher) of Cole becoming a vet. Was it an error or what? I could imagine how messy wrapping up can be -- to the point that writing hiccups can happen in any franchise. Some revelations can be overly random and make you go, "HUH?!" Deleting Cole's scene as a doctor might be because "It just couldn't fit into the t...

Real Good Scare: Viktor Adler As The Second Master Org

Image
Power Rangers is rated under the TV-Y7-FV standards. In short, many things from the source material are toned down and even potentially cooler villains (like Ransik) tend to become Large Ham, American style. However, there are moments when Power Rangers manages to create some villains that can be downright disturbing or cruel to the heroes. One real nightmare fuel is Viktor Adler as the Second Master Org. Power Rangers Wild Force is one such season. I've had my complaints on Power Rangers including the number of episodes. Wild Force only had 40 and I felt "Forever Red" was a weak spot in the series. However, I still feel the Second Master Org proved himself much worse than the Greater Scope Villain.  Jindrax and Toxica discover that the real Master Org was long gone. Both Orgs learn that they were serving a HUMAN. Jindrax and Toxica had redeeming traits compared to their Wild Force counterparts. I find their redemption another plus that Wild Force has over Himitsu Sentai ...

Power Rangers Wild Force: From Initially Badly Received To Vindicated?

Image
2022 has some milestones. It would be the milestone for 10 years of Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters (a series not initially well-received) and 20 years of Ninpuu Sentai Hurricanger . It would also be 20 years of Power Rangers Wild Force - a series that wasn't initially well-received but was vindicated for some reason. What's not initially well-received may end up having a following. It's like how some movies didn't do well at the box office but ended up getting some love. I may not like Power Rangers now (due to the Disney era and still, the new era is even worse with Nickelodeon) but there are some things I feel go well with this series. Just reading this from TV Tropes made me think of how this show was vindicated: Vindicated by History: Much like Turbo previously, this season has become steadily more popular as the years go on (helped by Linkara saying how he thought it was a good season), especially since we now have four whole other seasons that fans like to bash on. Sai...

So Power Rangers Wild Force Is An Unpopular Season?

Image
What truly shocked me to think was that Power Rangers Wild Force is an unpopular season. I read various reasons and I can agree with a few of them. So what was really wrong with Wild Force? I really want to show about some issues that were addressed. Acting in Wild Force was really, really terrible for most audiences. I wouldn't say they were overacting, they were mostly underacting. I thought Princess Shayla was okay but she sounded more like a Disney princess. Tetomu was much better than she was. I don't think Rick Medina is a terrible actor considering he was still able to deliver his part but he's just... inadequate. What was worse is that Rick did a lot of stuff that ruined him... however looks like he's changed for the better now. If you ask me, Gaoranger's acting is much better than this show or its predecessor Time Force had a way better cast of actors. Time Force was praised for good acting and Wild Force was criticized for bad acting. In my own criticis...

A Possible Shoutout to Gao Muscle in Power Rangers Wild Force?

Image
In the episode "Soul Bird Searching", I have noticed what might be a possible shoutout done in Wild Force. During that episode, Cole searches for the Soul Bird and it supposedly went away and later, we see the Green Gorilla appear, taking the place of the ailing Red Lion.  Now what's the possible shoutout here? Just notice prior to the appearance of the Green Gorilla, Cole removes his blasted shirt where he amazingly survives Master Org's blast while he is out of suit.  It reveals his muscular top as a result. So he looks like he is flexing his muscles in this picture, showing off that amazing upper body of his. The Sentai name for Kongazord is Gao MUSCLE.  I pretty felt like that having Cole topless for this episode was a shoutout to the name Gao Muscle.  Maybe it's just a coincidence but who knows?

My Mixed Emotions on Power Rangers Wild Force

Image
Power Rangers Wild Force was one season I saw before its source material Hyajakuu Sentai Gaoranger . I had no idea it was a weaker season, it was criticized for bad acting compared to critics including good acting in their criticism of Time Force. Now what's with the season that got me mixed? So I'll do my review on Wild Force and what I thought was good or bad. I'm now writing this after I saw Gaoranger and wanted to do some criticism myself. As much as I don't think highly about Power Rangers -- I thought that Wild Force could've been a cool season. Here are some of the stuff that I thought Wild Force was able to do better... I think Cole Evans is more badass than his counterpart Kakeru Shishi I know Cole's been a subject to Internet jokes, Rick Medina's had a rather bad reception but I could talk about some positive aspects of said character. Just IGNORE the actor and focus on the character himself since the fictional character isn't t...

Why I Think Cole Evans Was Killed By His Actor

Image
The day he realized he was acted by a douchebag! While I was watching Power Rangers Megaforce, I simply grew attached to Cole (for stupid reasons) which I simply wanted to have his kind of body and I thought he was one of a kind. I thought he was a pretty cool character (but sadly bad reception for many) and I hold the unpopular opinion that he's a great character.  I soon Googled for "Rick Medina" the actor, which I thought was an awesome guy but I was pretty shocked.  I didn't believe it at first but I had to believe it. I just thought of Rick Medina well, has some well-deserved hate.   Top ten worst moves by Mr. Smith lists the Wild Force acting (and now I'm liking Gaoranger more, happens to be a lot). Mr. Smith also calls Rick Medina a terrible actor .  I just started to think of the actor himself, not the character.  When I did Google for Rick Medina pictures a few years ago, I simply found the guy the exact opposite of what I thought he was.  S...

Power Rangers Villains I Thought Were Really Cruel

Image
Power Rangers while most of the villains were pretty standard, some villains are pretty noteworthy for me namely: Trakeena- If Power Rangers in Space copied Shiima's storyline into Astronema, don't forget this mean bitch who is similar to Queen Ahames of Changeman in how she deals with people around her.  She manipulates both heroes AND villains for her own benefit.  She lies a lot, she causes destruction without remorse, plus she never fails to come up with her cruel schemes to make the lives of the Lost Galaxy Rangers miserable.  She bullies her father's generals with her position, manipulates them to her bidding and does the same to others.  People who were victim of her treachery among villains are Treacheron and Villamax.  Towards the end, she goes crazy and mad with power.  She was determined to destroy Terra Venture in the state of madness, only to be stopped by Leo. She later returned in Lightspeed Rescue and was finally destroyed.  Truly a ...

Cole's Bad Reception to Other Fans?

Image
Cole Evans in PR Wild Force had some bad reception.  So what's with it?  PR Wild Force from what I heard had a mixed reaction from other fans especially with Rick Medina.  I thought of Mr. Smith's reactions to Rick Medina and his character.  You can read it here .  While I don't find Wild Force acting annoying but it's bland in due fairness.  So he was an Internet joke and two, I thought Rick Medina being a real douche was something that hit me hard considering he plays my favorite PR red ranger. What did I feel about it?  And Wild Force was a season criticized for bad acting, and I'm among a few to like it. I had my thoughts on Cole Evans' character had some originality from his counterpart Kakeru Noboru in Gaoranger.  He had his backstory with Master Org.  However I do agree with Mr. Smith that Rick Medina's acting tends to ruin an otherwise good plot.  Some may even think that his occasional shirtless scenes are nothing more than ...

Viktor Adler/Second Master Org in Power Rangers Wild Force

Image
Power Rangers usually had some villains that stood out... and I think Master Org is among them.  While Zedd initially appeared as scary but this guy had some some things that weren't originally allowed in Power Rangers.  Which of course, this second Master Org was actually a pretty much vengeful human which added a dark touch to Wild Force, a show that otherwise got criticized for its inadequate acting.  What we slowly discover is the fact that he is really human who had cast away his humanity, in exchange for revenge and Cole had a huge part of it. Looking at him, he's not your average Power Rangers villain and just a few more tweaks he could have also been a threat to the Gaorangers as well.  I mean, I'm glad he isn't all that sissified for U.S. media.  Nope, after he was overshadowed by Cole's father, he even fell outmatched when he was once in love with Cole's mother... well instead of being just an ordinary sore loser he isn't.  In the jungle, he g...

Cole's Fate After Wild Force...

Image
For Wild Force , there was the deleted ending where he became a veterinarian. Apparently, the epilogue takes place somewhere after the show.  If Alyssa became a teacher at the end of it and she was a high school student, Cole hasn't even gone to school! So, how in the world did he suddenly become a veterinarian? It just sounds weird really and not even a good plot. Though, Cole with his powers could easily tell what animals need for their treatment. The deleted ending was... well... deleted. I feel that the producers felt it'd be too random. The only thing left is that Cole went out to help animals. That was it. It seemed that nothing would be known of what he became after that. It doesn't help that the actor, Rick Medina, had ended up with multiple bad records. I even felt Rick as Deker wasn't a good move either.  Pretty much, I guess like most fictional characters, people are left to imagine what he could be doing now.

The Deleted Wild Force Ending... Why It Didn't Make Sense!

Image
I was getting WTFed when I found this one.  Sure I like the character from all PR reds but still, this doesn't make any freaking sense.  I mean, Cole was a jungle boy and he probably had to learn to read and write behind the scenes.  He did learn to read and write but come on, he has missed practically much of his life in school while being raised as some kind of jungle boy.  Overall, I'm glad the writers decided not to put this ending since it wouldn't make much sense for him.

Wishful Thinking: Only if Rick Medina Became Conan!

Image
It was too bad that there was no Conan movie last 2003. I always had my idea that a Conan movie on 2011 was very past due. Remember that after Conan the Barbarian and Conan the Destroyer in the 80s and the hit Conan cartoon in the 90s (which may not please Robert E. Howard), I thought about it if a Conan movie were made in 2003. So what's my take? I just thought from all the actors who bore a strong resemblance to Conan, it's Ricardo Medina (Rick) before all the tattoos. When I was watching Wild Force and started seeing Cole's huge muscles, I thought the actor himself would be very fit to play the role of the titular protagonist Conan. I just thought having the actor strip down to his underwear, wear the furry underwear and carry the Sword of Atlantis and he would have made a realistic-looking Conan. The actor has black hair and blue eyes, making Rick more suitable than Arnold Schwarzenegger. Now I don't think Rick is quite a great actor but he would have made a mor...

Cole Evans... Why He's My Favorite PR Red Ranger

Image
I know there have been issues about Cole being an Internet joke, Rick Medina's shocking revelation that he's a douche or Mr. Smith finding him annoying but I'll just write why Cole's my favorite PR Red Ranger of all time.  Wild Force is so-so for some but I'd say it's a good season.  So here are my reasons... He doesn't start out very typical.  He's more like a barbarian attempting to fit into the civilized world and learns what it is to be part of society.  It was pretty interesting development for me.  I just thought him trying to reason to the Org was a good scene, trying to develop a not so typical hero all along.  And he's got that naiveness to go that adds to character development IMO. There's just something about his strength and body.  While having a tough exterior, he has a gentle soul.  It can be evidenced in the episode "The Soul of Humanity". I just found his battle scene with Viktor Adler/second Master Org to be...

Is Power Rangers In My Old Shame List?

Image
I have to admit before I knew the world of Super Sentai, there was the introduction of Power Rangers.  I really thought that it was inspired by Tokusatsu while wondering WHY Japanese toys of Zyurangers lined up.  So here's what... I started off with MMPR when I was an eight year old child in the 90s.  Okay please DO NOT make a comment that Zack and Trini were meant to be racist because they're NOT portrayed negatively.  However I remembered how many of my friends looked down at me for watching it.  However I was a bigger fan of Tokusatsu.  However too many running gags got boring like Kimberly being pursued by Skull, Bulk and Skull's wacky antics and all.  It was actually based on three Sentai seasons- Zyuranger, Dairanger and Kakuranger which really has superior writing.  Damn US censors! So I did spend a bit of these old shames like... Having my crush on Kimberly Hart back then.  I have to think it's just crazy.  Man what am ...
