That One Factor From Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers That I Like Over Zyuranger: It's Amy Jo Johnson As Kimberly!

So it's no secret that I like Zyuranger over MMPR but I do have that one factor that I really consider as Zyuranger's positive edge against Zyuranger.  Now as said, there's no perfect show and I know Zyuranger has better writing and almost everything is better... now moving on.  It's all about Kimberly herself as that one positive edge that Zyuranger has over Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers.  This is my OPINION only so feel free to disagree with me but I'm just trying to be as open-minded in the right way as I need to.

So where do I begin?  Again, I saw MMPR first before Zyuranger.  Again, beware of my extreme favoritism and all that can show up one way or another.  So let's begin shall we?

During the time I saw Zyuranger, I was at first filled with some biases towards Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers.  I soon started to say blah blah stuff that a purist would say.  But I just had to be honest with myself when it came to Zyuranger.  True I find most of Zyur…

Mileena's Altered Face in Mortal Kombat X!

So in both her previous life and her next life, Mileena was born as the clone of Kitana laced with Tarkatan blood.

In her MK2 semi-canonical ending, it's revealed that Shang Tsung created her as a clone of Kitana but she was passed as Kitana's "twin".  So she reveals she has monstrous fangs and I sort of liked her design where her mouth was filled with all the sharp fangs, making me want to avoid her lest I be bitten by her sharp teeth... which made her and Baraka an ideal couple.

Several times, Mileena's hideous face got revealed whenever she did a fatality that involved her mouth like her man-eater, her nail spit fatality, her MK Deception fatality where she chews the opponent's head off, her MK9 fatality where she feasts on the opponent's now severed head... it always showed she was a hideous woman.  But then...

Somehow without an explanation, we get Mileena with lips which for me, some people praised it but I personally don't.  Maybe I'm too …

Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers Season 1 vs. Power Rangers Megaforce: Why One Morphinomenally Succeeded, The Other Megafailed!

Well it's time for me to discuss on the Megafailure that is Megaforce... looks like my really utter dislike for the series hasn't faded.  So really, what went wrong?  After several super bad seasons of Power Rangers, I guess it's best I stay neutral but, I am still concerned over its fandom might have been hurt hence hurting Toei's returns in the long run.

Nothing can be more annoying when Power Rangers Megaforce has outdone Power Rangers Operation Overdrive as a bad season right?  Right now, I even think Samurai has outdone Operation Overdrive.  Megaforce, Megafails and well... I can't deny that even Power Rangers fans can go critical on the show.  Even as a Sentai fan, I can go critical on some shows of Super Sentai which as of right now, I have gone into the state of Kamen Rider "purism" then again, I berate Decade is a terrible show also.  Looks like Megaforce really suffers the problems of Kamen Rider Decade of having a very loose, almost non-existen…

Why I Think The Shinkenger Girl Team Rocks And The Megaforce Girl Team Sucks!

Well looking at how my feud with Power Rangers Megaforce is going, I can't help but write this entry.  Megaforce was an eye candy season, no questions asked but it's HORRID!  Now I'll just talk on the girls themselves.

I might as well talk about the Megaforce girls first and why I think they suck.  I personally have too much of a bias here.  So I have NOTHING against Ciara Hanna while I suffer from extreme dislike for Christina Masterson.  Now I can really rant on this one for a LOOOOOONG time.

For Emma, I can't help but be a broken record/looped song in saying she's NOT the new Kimberly and she SUCKS, SUCKS, SUCKS.  I guess from the first episode up to the very last, she really pisses me off with her overly cheery overacting.  Oh boy, I can't count the number of times I have done a facedesk thanks to her!  Plus that song of hers is really not impressive at all!

The other one is Ciara Hanna.  Sure she is eye candy and Ciara Hanna CAN act, but the problem I hav…

A Look Through At Liu Kang's Development In Mortal Kombat

If you remembered Liu Kang from Mortal Kombat 1, you might notice that Liu Kang is a freaking Bruce Lee tribute.  Yes, Bruce Lee has been dead for a LOOOONG time but he ended up getting tributes like Liu Kang, Fei Long (Street Fighter) and Law (Tekken).  However there was an interesting development Liu Kang got in later games that deviated from his original design.

Mortal Kombat II redesigned Liu Kang in such a way that would make him a Chinese Ryu instead of a Bruce Lee tribute.  The most obvious has to be that Liu Kang himself would wear a red gi on his head like Ryu would.  In addition, Kung Lao was added as his friendly rival that while Johnny Cage would have sufficed as Ken Masters, Kung Lao takes that place.  In Shaolin Monks, both Liu Kang and Kung Lao have a Ryu/Ken relationship.  At the same time, Liu Kang and Shang Tsung would have a Ryu vs. Akuma type of rivalry.

Kimberly Hart of MMPR Should Have Appeared in "A Star Is Born" In Full Bikini!

In "A Star Is Born" I thought Kimberly was quite tasteful but would have been better if...

Kimberly really appeared in complete bikini and not just the top in that episode.  I thought that the scene wouldn't pass TV-Y7-FV standards which I think is stupid.  After all, some cartoon hotties appeared in a bikini so why not Kimberly?  This scene would have been much better. =P

I just got the stupid idea from Chisato's bikini scene in Megaranger episode 17.  Again, Japan and U.S. are pretty different aren't they?  Just me and my silly imagination.  Hehehehehe!

Why I Think X-Box One Users May Get More For Their Money With Mortal Kombat X Than The Latest Killer Instinct Game!

Back in the 90s, Killer Instinct was a real Killer for two consecutive games namely Killer Instinct 1 and Killer Instinct 2 which are now released for X-Box One, fully translated from the Arcade Games.  It has more fun mechanics than Mortal Kombat back in the past (which got overly simplistic with just HP, LP, HK, LK giving characters less distinction) and it had a lot of killer praise back then.  However the third return was a real Killer Letdown and again, just because you succeeded in the past doesn't mean you will always succeed.

Remember this is just MY OPINION so you are free to disagree.  Right now, Mortal Kombat X will be released for the PS3 and the XBox 360 next month while last month, the PS4 and XBox One games were released.  Now it's time to share my opinion on to why X-Box One users may get more for their money than Killer Instinct (2013).  Now I don't have an X-Box One but I seldom end up renting one IF the game also appears in the X-Box One and I just want…

Easter Egg: Blanche Stage Brutality!

While Mortal Kombat X removed stage fatalities, yet I cannot ignore the existence of "Stage Brutalities" that one happens in the Dead Woods, another exists in the Outworld Market Place.  While it was thought of to be just another video game lie, well this is really real.
The old lady in the background can be used as an interactive element which I do feel sorry for her.  However she can be used for a stage brutality where instead of dying, she practically beats the defeated opponent with her fists!  Badass grandma!

Mortal Kombat X: Ultra Combo?!

While I started reading on how to do Brutalities, apparently if you are skilled enough, you will be able to integrate brutalities into combos.  In my case, I was thinking about the Ultra Combo from Killer Instinct.  So here, it seems like these "Ultra Combos" are pretty customized as you can see above with all the ridiculous combos you can do.
Well unlike Killer Instinct's, Mortal Kombat X's "Ultra Combo" would end up with a bloody finish if you really know how to link combos and moves together.  So far, looks like Mortal Kombat X will still be more worth your money than Killer Instinct 2013 which is far more plagued with microtransactions than usual.

Mortal Kombat X's Brutalities: Expectation vs. Reality!

Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and Mortal Kombat Trilogy introduced the rather difficult to do Brutalities which requires a long sequence of button presses.  These were not very popular because of that.  In Mortal Kombat Trilogy (which I hope will be a PSN downloadable) had the One Button finisher move cheat which made brutalities easier.  They were long combos that made the opponent explode.
In Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks (an adventure game), the Brutality was re-added as a boost when fighting enemies for later parts of the game.  It allowed one to easily clear a room out of enemies and have a super high combo score against the surrounding foes.

My Thoughts On Goro's Involvement in Mortal Kombat X's Gameplay

I started to look that Angry Joe's review and yeah, I know Mortal Kombat X has some mistakes I'd like to address later (again there is NO perfect game), I would like to address the issue of Goro.  Remember how Goro was a sub-boss in Mortal Kombat 4 who was playable via a SECRET code which I remembered in the Playstation that you defeat the game with Shinnok, then save.  Start a new game, go to Hidden pressing (then holding) Block then go up, up, up, left and pressing Run to finally access Goro himself.  Goro was playable but the game was stuck with Goro's Lair and two, there was no Goro vs. Goro match as he would fight Shinnok twice.

The promotion required you to pre-order Goro in order to directly play as him without having to download him (which I did).  However, it becomes very unfair that Goro must be downloaded and as Angry Joe says, did Netherrealm Studios get hit by the Corporate Commander?  Why I think it's unfair is because for one, Goro is the sub-boss and S…

Mako Shiraishi VS. Gia Moran: Who's The New Kimberly?

Well I'll write this longer post so while I don't think Emma can stand a chance against Mako, but Gia seems to have some advantage.  People know I'm a sucker for hot blondes and hot brunettes.  Now it's time to do some comparison between Mako Shiraishi and Gia Moran.  Again, do expect my biases and extreme favoritism all in this post!

First, I'd like to talk about Mako Shiraishi.

She starts of as a pre-school teacher in Shinkenger and she has a habit of throwing a witty/sarcastic comment on your face like Kimberly in MMPR or Chisato in Megaranger which is typical in almost every episode.  Overall, she's a likable character but she's not that great, I mean I like her but she's gotten out of my top ten favorites (and no Shinkenger has become a top ten for me like how poor Kotoha is kicked out in favor of Ako Hayasaka and Takeru Shiba is kicked out in favor of Takeru/Red Mask) as of late.

While she does seem mean at times, for example, she won't hesit…

Kimberly Hart and Chisato Jougasaki Compared

Well I may have overlooked this or this is just a forced comparison (after making one with Mako).  No matter, I am compelled to write this on  Okay Kimberly wears PINK, Chisato wears YELLOW and that's where they differ aside from ethnicity and all.  Somehow, I can't help but force to see a similarity between Chisato and Kimberly namely...

Chisato has more or less the same similar charm with her smile, she's the hottest girl in school and she's very popular with the guys.  Good thing though that you don't have any bully crushing on her.

She's not the type to keep her mouth shut when she needs to tell you what went wrong.  In short, she's a very blunt character who doesn't care to tell you on your face that you're annoying and she is prone to making sarcastic and witty comments.

Mortal Kombat vs. Marvel Universe

I thought of restarting my fic, maybe it's time to start a darker, edgier story with some of Mortal Kombat 4's cast maybe minus the less popular characters.  It will be an unofficial sequel to Mortal Kombat (2011) to where events will take place in a darker, edgier fashion... while rather than spanning 25 years as Mortal Kombat X had done, it will be a rewrite of Mortal Kombat 4 which may ignore the less popular characters in favor of the more popular ones.  It's time to narrow down the characters.

Characters and plot:

The whole premise would comprise of the rise of Shinnok from the Netherrealm but this time, aside from the Revenants, he has entirely new allies.  The forces of darkness will have Shinnok and Loki team up to defeat the thunder gods of their respective realms.  Thor and Raiden team up to defeat this new deadly alliance of dark gods.  Shinnok had escaped the Netherrealm as he this time, grabs the REAL Amulet and starts raging havoc like never before.  Shinnok s…

Goro's Legacy As A Playable Character In The Mortal Kombat Series!

Goro himself started as a non-playable sub-boss who was infamous for being SO HARD to defeat.  In Mortal Kombat II, he was rumored to be hidden or even playable which was quickly dismissed and later, he was added into the Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks (for PS2, X-Box, Gamecube) adventure game as a key boss.  In-between, he became a playable character in these games.  He was however playable in the stupid Game Boy version of Mortal Kombat.

In Mortal Kombat Trilogy, Goro was presented as an unbalanced playable character in the Playstation 1, Sega Saturn and PC versions of Mortal Kombat Trilogy together with Kintaro, Motaro and Shao Kahn.  In this version, Goro didn't have his awesome stomp move but he still had his Shokan Bolt (which changed the music every time it hit the opponent), he still dealt heavy damage and he had the new Shokan Spin attack which were added into the later games.

In Mortal Kombat 4/Gold, Goro was made a playable character via a secret code.  However Goro was …

Washing Off Power Rangers Megafail Off The Mind Ain't Easy!

Yes Power Rangers Megafail was indeed the worst route I could take from choosing between Power Rangers Samurai, Kyoryuger, Megaforce and ToQGer.  Sure the show has a load of eye candy but eye candy will NEVER save a bad show.  I always felt that the show will always leave a very, very bad memory in my head... so much for me overly whining on Bruce Kalish's era.  Moving on.... washing it off my mind requires a lot of backtracking instead of forwarding which I have done it this way... and it may work for you.

Here are some shows that may help get rid of the bad feeling, backtracking wise:

Samurai Sentai Shinkenger might be good if you are looking for BOTH eye candy and quality in one show.  Now it's easy to like Mako and Kotoha for shallow and pitiful reasons but you'll realize there's more than just a hottie and a cutie in one show.  Although this isn't the best of Yasuko Kobayashi's writing jobs and she's not really that good with comedy but the show has wh…

I Never Expected Janperson To Be Part of Toei!

Back then, I was a Toku noob who would watch Super Sentai, Power Rangers, turned into a Super Sentai purist then I was still watching Kamen Rider, Metal Hero and didn't expect all those shows to be part of Toei AND that Ultraman didn't belong to Toei. Back then, I didn't even treat Janperson as a Tokusatsu. I always thought Janperson was too mature to be treated as a Tokusatsu never mind that as a child, that Super Sentai series were usually more serious than Power Rangers. So I enjoyed Janperson as a more mature show, it was ahead of most Toku I show. No monsters of the week - instead we had a lot of crime scenes, violence and anything that made Janperson a Japanese Robocop.

Back then, I thought Robocop copied from Janperson until later, I discovered that Janperson was a Robocop inspired hero and that the show itself was produced by Toei Ltd. I was even shocked to see that Janperson was suddenly inserted into that stupid show Beetleborgs. Years later, I discovered that …

A Possible Shoutout to Gao Muscle in Power Rangers Wild Force?

In the episode "Soul Bird Searching", I have noticed what might be a possible shoutout done in Wild Force.

During that episode, Cole searches for the Soul Bird and it supposedly went away and later, we see the Green Gorilla appear, taking the place of the ailing Red Lion.  Now what's the possible shoutout here?

Just notice prior to the appearance of the Green Gorilla, Cole removes his blasted shirt where he amazingly survives Master Org's blast while he is out of suit.  It reveals his muscular top as a result.

So he looks like he is flexing his muscles in this picture, showing off that amazing upper body of his.

The Sentai name for Kongazord is Gao MUSCLE.  I pretty felt like that having Cole topless for this episode was a shoutout to the name Gao Muscle.  Maybe it's just a coincidence but who knows?
