Magneto Is Powered Down In Other Media

I remembered how often I actually laughed or ridiculed Magneto in the cartoon media in the good old days before Disney got mutilated and then -- MUTILATED Marvel Comics for the worse. Now I thought about the whole fact that Saban's X-Men cartoon and some previous incarnations of Magneto just don't get the full extent of how powerful Magneto really is. His appearance in one of the old Fantastic Four series (where Human Torch was replaced by Herbie) was just oh-so pathetic and stupid while he did have an impressive appearance in two Spiderman series -- especially in Spiderman

Many of the media tend to limit Magneto's power. I remembered the X-Men cartoon as well as the X-Men movies tend to portray Magneto to be more focused on ferromagnetic powers ignoring that's not the only field of magnetism. I may not be a physicist but I understand more of the basics of magnetism by doing some actual research. So what powers would he actually possess? It's not just ferromagnetism which deals only with ferromagnetic materials (ex. iron) where we see Magneto deal with guns. Later, some quack science suggested the build Sentinels made of plastic placed together with some kind of non-magnetic materials (or insulated) in order to counter him. Earlier episodes showed Magneto could use his magnetic waves as pressure blasts though.

The magnetic spectrum is much bigger than thus ferromagnetic. There's a relation between magnetism and electricity which could allow him to manipulate electricity or even generate electromagnetic attacks against his opponents. Some media allowed Magneto to generate a magnetic field around him. What most media ignore is that Magneto could still use the magnetic fields even against non-ferrous materials. Also, he could fire dangerous magnetic waves of power (which Capcom's portrayal of Magneto is somewhat accurate compared the Activision's portrayal of Magneto) and manipulate gravitational fields around him.

I just thought what if we gave Magneto more of his full power in the X-Men movies as well? The X-Men movies made him overly dependent to metals around him -- his use of ferromagnetism made him vulnerable when he was around plastic or non-magnetic material. But if he had his power from the comics -- not even a plastic prison can hold him unless they first insulated his powers so no magnetism can escape from him. Instead, one could consider how he could have actually escaped prison or even arrest by simply generating a magnetic shockwave or even crush a plastic army by using other forces of magnetism.  In short, not even a plastic army would actually stop this guy if he had his full power from the comics.
