Wolverine's Inconsistent Height

Wolverine's height is one that's always subject to change. While Marvel tends to list him as 5'3 yet many of the comics tend to draw him TALLER than he should. Saban's X-Men cartoon had him a little taller and X-Men Evolution made him taller than that. What's more interesting is that Hugh Jackman is ONE FOOT taller than the original statistic concerning the height of said character. So what really happened?

I guess it's a cultural thing that caused Wolverine's height to go from 5'3 up to 6'3. The 90s cartoons doesn't make him that tall but I guess a taller, more muscular Wolverine is way more marketable than he was originally created. I think the appeal of Wolverine being the short chick magnet wasn't so appealing. Plus, he was a popular character. Also Jackman's appeal as a taller Wolverine may be one change that was very welcome to a new generation of fans. I like the change making him more imposing than he already was.

For me, Wolverine's height change is one of the most welcome changes ever done for a character. After all, he has to be made marketable as one of the most popular Marvel characters ever. Also, it doesn't make sense to list Wolverine as 5'3 yet all his fights with Sabertooth (as drawn in some incarnations) don't make that huge one foot apart height distinction between the two enemies.
