Disney Villains That Scared Me As A Child

It was back when Disney used to produce quality films -- they also produced quality villains too! Back then, it was a time to actually know the meaning of fear especially with these villains.

I remembered watching Pinnochio which really had some scary scenes. Whether it's the Fox and the Cat or well Stromboli using a sharp sword -- there was also the menacing Coachman. So I wonder how could someone like him who appears intimidating still lure those stupid little boys into Pleasure Island? He really was huge and intimidating. Plus, it doesn't help that he seems to have escaped his comeuppance while misguided little boys turn into donkeys -- a scene that was scary enough for me. Though I think he'd probably make much better money if he knew there were also adults and females who can be as jackasses as stupid little boys.

Lady Tremaine is another classic villain. She's a very intimidating bitch who really commands and strikes fear. Sure, she's NOT as ugly as her two daughters from her first husband but she is really the bitchiest of them all. They all have to get it from somewhere and she never raised her daughters well. It's somewhat implied that she may have killed Cinderella's father (though this isn't clear either) and she is really a bitch. Yes, I really wanted to strangle this evil woman. It doesn't help that she's really that greedy and selfish. Besides, I don't think she even cares about her own biological daughters either.

Aunt Medusa was one villain who got me scared. She was loud and intimidating with those evil green eyes. Man, I can't forget hiding whenever she showed her scary temper or when she manipulated poor Penny. The only comfort I had was when she got betrayed by her own pets Nero and Brutus. I really assume that she's most likely dead.

Maleficent was also voiced by Eleanor Audrey -- the same woman who voiced Lady Tremaine. She's the ultimate gate-crasher. She's always hated by her fellow fairies due to her malevolent nature though she's still dignified at best. Her magnificent gate crashing was just one badass scene -- it makes you think that she never takes no for an answer. Damned if you do invite her and damned if you don't. Regardless, she always shows that she's one terrible spoiled rotten bitch you don't want to mess with.

Ursula herself scared me in how she approached Ariel. Why would anyone want to seek her help anyway especially that it's TOO OBVIOUS that she's a villain? From the whole collection of mermaids turned into polyps or her black magic -- you can't help but think that she's one scary witch. I'm just glad that stuff from the original Little Mermaid story was actually cut out or that it had a happy ending -- back when Disney knew how to tone things down for the better. She may be hammy but you can't deny that she has scared me as a child!
