MKX had a good pre-order bonus in the form of a depowered Goro. Now MK11 is moving towards another direction by giving a pre-order FAR MORE WORTHY than Eliza in Tekken 7 -- the BIG BAD of Mortal Kombat himself Shao Kahn (or at least a past version of him) is returning. The difference between Goro's pre-order and Shao Kahn is this -- Kahn appears in Story Mode while Goro's doesn't. Eliza in Tekken 7 doesn't even appear in Story Mode and her Character Episode isn't even a bit interesting. Seriously what happened to you Katsuhiro Harada and Bandai-Namco?!
So why is Shao Kahn a good pre-order bonus? Remember the times that you got to play as a depowered version of him in MK Deception (Gamecube version), MK Unchained (PSP), MK Armageddon and in MK vs. DC? Well, it was fun to take control of him even if he got depowered or to get your revenge for all the hard times he gave you during MK2, MK3, UMK3, MKT (he was playable but not depowered). Adding him as a pre-order DLC even if he's going to get depowered is better because he is a freaking legacy character! It's not like Tekken 7's new characters that just become mostly cheap knock-offs.
Shao Kahn should be remembered as the most evil and dangerous MK villain? He overthrow the supposedly more powerful Onaga by treachery and took over Outworld. Heck, he has the charisma that made him more popular than Onaga and the arena is where he gains lots of followers. In MK Armageddon he was supposedly seized by Onaga -- only for him to RETURN and freaking decimate everyone! So why Netherrealm decided to make him eventually defeat Blaze than him standing out after Taven's victory caused everyone to get overpowered. So either way Kahn is badass. In the reboot or reincarnated timeline -- he gets the most badass death ever at the end of MK9! How's that for a better pre-order DLC?
