Beast Machines Is Worse Than Transformers Season 3

Nobody can deny that Transformers and its sequel series Beast Wars (which takes place 300 years after the original ended but they got stranded on pre-historic Earth) are both successes. But for every successful franchise -- there's the tendency for a black sheep or flak to appear. Do you remember how the highly successful Kamen Rider Black got succeeded by the failure that's Kamen Rider Black RX? Beast Wars was succeeded by Beast Machines which really didn't last after 26 episodes. Beast Wars had 52 episodes which proved it was a success. Beast Machines tried to ride on the success of Hasbro's Beast Wars but only resulted in how Black RX ended -- a failure!

I may not be a fan of Transformers Season 3 but at least Season 3 had some development you can enjoy. I know I've hated (to a certain extent) how Galvatron went all the way from a scary, cunning leader from the movie to a greater idiot than Starscream ever was. However, Galvatron's insanity made him more interesting than how boring Beast Wars Megatron became in Beast Machines. Also, I think fans were getting too disappointed with Rodimus Prime since he was always at the shadow of the greatest Autobot leader ever -- Optimus Prime! Rodimus Prime though always shows himself developing for the best. Transformers Season 3 had a lot of interesting lore like the Quintessons as the creator of the whole Transformers race or expanding the mythologies of the first two seasons.

Beast Machines? Bad designs, bad battles -- you can tell how mediocre it is from start to finish. There's really no passion. I even thought the whole turning Rhinox into Tankor is almost as stupid as turning Ultra Magnus into a Decepticon. At least, the Hate Plague turning Ultra Magnus berserk is making more sense than Rhinox turning into Tankor. Not to mention there are really boring stories from people who are supposedly trained in story-writing in contrast to me who has none of that! There's not much entertainment either. It almost reminds me of why I don't bother rewatching Dragon Ball GT in contrast to Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball series! Maybe, we can call Beast Machines as the Dragon Ball GT of Beast Wars?

I wonder was this series also trying to recapture the movie's plot? Do you remember when the Transformers movie had the plot where the Decepticons finally took over Cybertron and the Autobots had to recover it? Here, it's played in 26 episodes yet it just goes downhill. The second half got even worse which may have led to the finale -- which at least ended this show! It felt more like a bad fanfic from me or just anyone than an actual Beast Wars sequel!
