The WTF Moment Of Sindel In 'MK11: Aftermath'

Bad writing? Really... it looks like Corporate Commander has invaded Netherrealm Studios, right? The expansion pack's payment is justifiable. However, the latest storyline for Sindel is really making us go WTF with this retcon. Why is that? We need to consider the big reality that Sindel has been altered into... willingly evil? I'm really finding myself LMAO and facedesk at the same time.

Who can remember the original storyline Sindel had? Most of the time, we remember her to have ended her life driven to madness at the thought of serving Shao Kahn. Here? Did she love him all along because of a lust for power? Did she betray Jerrod all along? Did Quan Chi really plan her death? Even her tower ending is really that shocking. Right now, I can't decide which is more WTF between the revelation between Tekken 7's revelation of the Devil Gene having been from the Hachijos (the clan of Heihachi's wife) or the sudden inclusion of Akuma into the Tekkenverse. If adding Akuma into the Tekken-verse wasn't WTF enough for Namco then Netherrealm's latest decision for Sindel is WTF too.

Going back to MK9 - we see that Shao Kahn was wondering why Sindel committed suicide. We also see that Quan Chi explained that Sindel's death created a barrier that would prevent Shao Kahn from directly invading Earthrealm. It's understandable that Sindel became Shao Kahn's willing slave since Quan Chi resurrected her as "more cooperative". It's obvious Sindel was under Shao Kahn's brainwashing at that time. Sindel was obviously not evil in the MK9 reboot. Her ending showed her to be the Sindel fans loved.

However, MK11 really does a really bad job with her. The revelation that she murdered her husband to marry Shao Kahn is something. I wonder did Kronika already and slowly alter the timeline resulting in that new change? It's something that this Sindel did love Shao Kahn all along? Did the merging of timelines cause this rather create this effect? I still think it's a bad plot twist that a fanfiction writer would write than something from a crew of professionals would do. I mean, it's almost like something I'd write as a non-professional writer than something that trained writers would do.
