"Supah Ninjas" Sitcom: It's Still WAY More Entertaining Than "Power Rangers Samurai" Last 2011

It's been ten years since Haim Saban repurchased Power Rangers ONLY TO MAKE IT WORSE, right? I dunno why that obviously FALSE rumor that Power Rangers Samurai was more popular than its source material even came out. It's B-O-G-U-S and that Lost Galaxy rumor in Japan might be easily disproven now thanks to the Internet! Anyway, 2011 was the year of Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger (probably the greatest anniversary Super Sentai season) and there's one short show that's still more entertaining than Samurai ever will be be - it's the action sitcom Supah Ninjas.

Supah Ninjas is pretty much like the average American show. There hasn't been a fixed villain as they fought several different villains like how some Hanna-Barbera superheroes never had a fixed nemesis and were canceled after a short period of time. The story has Mike, Amanda, and Owen fighting over some villains. They are under the tutelage of Holo-Gramps -an artificial intelligence version of Mike's real grandfather to at least help the legacy. For some reason, Mike's father doesn't have the ninja factor like his father and grandfather - something that was also used in Shuriken Sentai Ninninger last 2015. I think it's just a coincidence actually.

I could talk about the acting that really managed to at least stand out over Samurai. I keep hearing how Samurai gets so much berating for the bad acting. Yes, that, and I feel like Spike Skullovitch (who's hinted to be Bulk's nephew) is the least of the worst of how bad Samurai gets. Ryan Potter and Gracie Dzienny were 16 years old while Carlos Knight was the eldest. I think it didn't matter with their age - it was their performance in one way or another. They're younger than the cast of Samurai yet they delivered better acting. Well, even better acting than also what Power Rangers Megaforce had to offer too.

Quite a huge guilty pleasure for me was Gracie (because of her resemblance to a young Pamela Anderson) who was 16 years old (and I was 26) at that time. JAIL BAIT REALLY! She did turn 18 during the short-lived second season (2013). If I'm to talk, she should've been Kimberly in that FAILED Power Rangers (2017) movie. Then again, maybe it's rather merciful (to her) that she wasn't. Amanda McCay does seem to be based on Kimberly from Mighty Morphin' though I can't be too sure. For one, she's only 16 but at least she was able to act better than the cast of Samurai and Megaforce. Her turning 18 would've probably been MORE THAN ENOUGH to make both Ciara Hanna and Christina Masterson "disappear" - something I failed to realize until the appearance of Kazusa Okuyama (2018) and Jacqueline Scislowski (2019) seemed to do that job too.

For me, the show was sort of a real diversion from Samurai. It may not be the best it can still serve as a good diversion from that awful return of Saban. Yup, Saban is ruining Power Rangers even more since 2011, right?
