Mortal Kombat (2011) which I believe will be regarded as the best game of the reboot franchise (just like how Mortal Kombat II is regarded as the best game of the original trilogy) has Mortal Kombat Armageddon as the beginning scene. It would be interesting to see that we have Shao Kahn defeat Raiden, hammer Raiden, and finally the whole timeline resets itself. I was thinking the carnage below was a result of Taven's ending...
It would be interesting that Taven, the half-god son of Argus and Delia, has had his ending narrated from two different points of view. One is the narrator and the other is Taven narrating the ending himself. I managed to enjoy playing the Konquest Mode of Armageddon better as it has more action and a definite end. So, the final task was for Taven to defeat Blaze. Then we realize that a third unforeseen outcome - all the powers of the kombatants was POWERED UP beyond their current level. That alone would make sense as the beginning of MK (2011) shows us a bloody carnage. Everyone got so powered up that they ended up DESTROYING EACH OTHER.
What happens next is that we see Shao Kahn win the Battle of Armageddon. How Shao Kahn escaped Onaga is unknown. Though, I assumed that both Shao Kahn and Onaga battled to the death after they both got powered up as a result of Blaze's corruption. Shao Kahn would then return to the Pyramid of Argus and finish Raiden off himself. Instead, it was confirmed that everything was retconned that Shao Kahn WON Armageddon himself. I find the whole thing HUH in several points.
However, it seems that the retcon is actually the staff of Netherrealm giving a dirty finger to Armageddon. The game itself was really considered bad by the fans and I regret even playing it. I don't even want to play it anymore. I guess it was only normal that Taven wasn't made the winner but the fan-favorite SHAO KAHN. I guess Shao Kahn's descent to madness caused the current timeline to collapse all before Raiden could send the message to a new timeline before Armageddon can begin. It seems that the retcon was purposely done and John Vogel CONFIRMED it himself.
