I did some rewatching of a few He-Man and She-Ra cartoons from the 1980s. What I failed to see was that Haim Saban and Shuky Levy provided the sound score for the cartoon. Sure, I don't like the soundtrack of Power Rangers BUT I think Saban and Levy knew what they were doing with American franchises. One of the episodes I'd like to review is "Horde Prime Takes a Holiday". It's a cool episode but ends up in a very awkward note.
It takes both He-Man and She-Ra to stop the Velvet Glove. Skeletor gets involved because he could. It was amazing to see Hordak and Skeletor relive their old hatreds. If I'm not wrong, Hordak left Skeletor behind so that explains that. Skeletor ratted out Hordak as a result. Well, the cycle of hatred between Skeletor and Hordak isn't just some chilish quarrel. I laughed at how Skeletor's and Hordak's fight caused the ship to be damaged. Eventually, the Velvet Glove was destroyed. What was so amusing was Horde Prime finding his favorite flagship destroyed. I really laughed at how Hordak
What makes me amused (and ticked) is how the moral lesson of the week kicked in. Sure, He-Man and She-Ra are right to talk about this but IT WAS TOTALLY IRRELEVANT TO THE PLOT
He-Man: "She-Ra and I want to talk to you about something that's very personal; your body".
She-Ra: "Remember, it's your body and no one should touch you in a way that you feel is wrong".
Orko: (punching the air) "I'll get anybody who tries it!"
She-Ra: "It's not that easy Orko. It's hard for a young person to admit that he or she has been touched in a bad way".
He-Man: "If you've been touched that way, don't be ashamed. Tell someone you trust, like your parents, your doctor, your teacher, or counselor, or your minister or rabbi".
She-Ra: "Right, Orko?"
Orko: "Right on!"
It's not like as if we had those scenes in She-Ra! It's just downright dumb how the moral of the week focused on being molested. NO ACTS OF MOLESTATION HAPPENED IN THIS EPISODE. Instead, we should be having Loo-Kee discussing that we should NEVER take anything that belongs to another. That's what Hordak did - he TOOK AWAY his brother Horde Prime's flagship for a joy ride even if he was told a CLEAR NO.
