"Transformers: Victory" And Its Unusually Tall Decepticon Emperor Of Destruction

Transformers characters have varying heights. For example, it can be noticed that Optimus Prime is much taller than his other comrades such as Bumblebee. Meanwhile, the Decepticons were more or less close to each other's heights -- except for some of Soundwave's miniature robots like Laserbeak. It was normal to have one character taller than the other. However, there's one thing worth noting in Transformers: Victory. Unusually, Deathsaurus was made as TALL AS A COMBINER!

Who can remember this scene from the G1 American cartoon? I wonder if the Japanese side overlooked Megatron's height vs. that of a combiner. G1 Starscream once used Bruticus to try and get Megatron to relinquish leadership. The Combiners are obviously bigger than the tallest non-combiner characters. Megatron was easily grabbed. I remember one scene in Transformers: Headmasters where G1 Galvatron got seized by an Autobot combiner. Why was Deathsaurus purposely made THAT TALL compared to his predecessors. Was it even explained how Deathsaurs got to that size? Was Deathsaurus originally just as tall as Star Saber's base form? Star Saber would often use the V-Star when it came to fighting off Decepticon Combiners -- such as Dinoking and Liokaiser. By default, Star Saber remained as tall as the others.

Why was Deathsaurus taller than his subordinates? Did Toei purposely draw Deathsaurus THAT ALL just to make a new more intimidating-looking Emperor of Destruction? Seeing Deathsaurus with the Liokaiser combiner side by side with NEARLY THE SAME HEIGHT -- shows how tall Deathsaurus us. The Decepticons under him -- whether it's the Breastforce warriors or the Dinoforce -- are all but tiny compared to him! I bet that Deathsaurus would probably easily get rid of Dinoking or even Liokaiser if he fought either which combiner!

It's possible that Deathsaurus was possibly the same height as his comrades. Deathsaurus probably realized the mistakes of past Decepticon emperors and decided to increase his size AND power. Presumably, Deathsaurus would probably have more height and power than G1 Galvatron -- who was buried in ice in the Transformers: Headmasters continuity. It's not known how Deathsaurus becamethat tall or if he was already as tall as a combiner. It's possible that Deahtsaurus decided to increase his size to give him a fighting advantage. Deathsaurus' incredible height would've also given more commanding presence toward the shorter Decepticon members!

Some Autobots or Decepticons got taller when they got powered-up. Fortress Maximum was not that tall. However, Fortress Maximus in the Headmasters continuity used the Master Sword to power up and merge the Maximus Battleship. The same technology may have been used by Star Saber with the V-Star. That's why I assumed Star Saber and Fortress Maximus were the same person for some time. Deathsaurus was never shown to have merged with anything to achieve the height he had in Victory. It's not really explained either how he got as tall as a combiner. Ginrai got taller during his Super Ginrai upgrade (combining with the trailer) and when Godbomber combined with him. Ginrai was taller than the Junior Headmasters. Apparently, any Transformers would get bigger depending on the situation. Scorponok was revealed to also merge with his ship known as MegaZarak or BlackZarak.

BlackZarak was as tall as a combiner. Masterforce revealed BlackZarak was able to beat up Hydra and Buster MERCILESSLY because of his height.

It's not really explained in-show. So far, some height differences can be explanatory. Optimus Prime would be taller than Bumblebee -- given their alternate modes. Optimus Prime is a TRUCK while Bumblebee is a Volkswagen. It may also be because of rank of sorts. I guess Toei wanted to create a Decepticon Emperor that was huge and imposing. However, I feel that they needed to explain Deathsaurus' height. At least Black Zarak's height in Masterforce was explained. Deathsaurus? Victory probably still owes fans an explanation for that height discrepancy!
