Real Good Scare: Viktor Adler As The Second Master Org

Power Rangers is rated under the TV-Y7-FV standards. In short, many things from the source material are toned down and even potentially cooler villains (like Ransik) tend to become Large Ham, American style. However, there are moments when Power Rangers manages to create some villains that can be downright disturbing or cruel to the heroes. One real nightmare fuel is Viktor Adler as the Second Master Org. Power Rangers Wild Force is one such season. I've had my complaints on Power Rangers including the number of episodes. Wild Force only had 40 and I felt "Forever Red" was a weak spot in the series. However, I still feel the Second Master Org proved himself much worse than the Greater Scope Villain.  Jindrax and Toxica discover that the real Master Org was long gone. Both Orgs learn that they were serving a HUMAN. Jindrax and Toxica had redeeming traits compared to their Wild Force counterparts. I find their redemption another plus that Wild Force has over Himitsu Sentai

Remembering The Video Game Lies I Heard About "Mortal Kombat" That Got Implemented, One Way Or Another

As I was reviewing the Video Game Lies Fandom wiki -- this is indeed true: We all knew one. That kid who always told lies about video games. Maybe he knew a cheat code to make Lara Croft naked, or said that something special happened in Sonic if you collected 1000 rings, or that there really was a Carcer City in GTAIII that you had to be awesome to get to. Maybe you were that kid. Do video game lies arise out of a desire to trick people, or because the liar wants to look cool? We may never know, but we can record all of these lies for posterity. Years from now, historians will be able to observe this unique bit of video game culture. Yes, it happened and I want to look into the video game lies. I'd like to tackle those that I could remember and became real decades later. The Ermac lie from the first game Mortal Kombat (1992) The hidden character Reptile may have caused the controversy. One of them was a character known as Ermac. It was said that if you do certain stuff -- Ermac w

Interesting Video: Yes, Mighty Morphin' Nostalgia IS Holding Power Rangers Back

I wrote about  the Power Rangers franchise getting a Mighty Morphin' overdose . I found this video interesting in so many ways. It deeply explains what went wrong during the Neo-Saban era and Hasbro era -- all too focused on Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers . It's no longer the 1990s! It's time to evolve and not to remain stagnant. Watch this video and understand why I've grown to dislike Power Rangers for years to come!

Mortal Kombat Animalities That Never Fit For Their Characters IMHO

Mortal Kombat's Animalties are my least favorite finishers. My complaint is that it would rob creativity from the Fatalities and put them into the Animalities. Liu Kang's Dragon got people hyped. The rumors that Kuai Liang Sub Zero could become a polar bear came in Mortal Kombat II . The rumors became true in  Mortal Kombat 3 . A couple of rumors would become real in later games but not all of them. Now, it's time for my list of Animalities that never made sense. Sheeva as a scorpion (which made Hanzo Scorpion as a penguin) should've been revised in the later installments Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and Mortal Kombat Trilogy changed some fatalities and friendships. A good example is how Hanzo Hasashi Scorpion's multiple assault was removed for some ports. Sonya's arm aerobics was replaced with flowers. Why weren't some Animalities revised then? Sheeva became a scorpion. Later, Hanzo Scorpion returned AND he was turned into a penguin. I felt Sheeva should've

Tekken 8's Bringing Back Heihachi Is Probably Just There For FANSERVICE

Having a Tekken game without Heihachi Mishima probably feels inconceivable. I bet Namco wasn't willing to repeat the SAME MISTAKE with Tekken 3 when fan-favorite Kazuya Mishima was completely absent. I feel Kazuya was probably one of the best bad guys in Tekken . Heihachi was supposedly killed in Tekken 7 . However, it's no surprise that Heihachi returned and was rescued before he could fall into the lava. I can't decide if it's a good thing or a bad thing. Heihachi is a fan favorite. I was surprised to learn that "The Dark Awakens" is actually FREE . Yes, free, in contrast to Mortal Kombat 11's Aftermath expansion (which I wanted to buy UNTIL I saw how it unfolded) or Mortal Kombat 1's utterly chaotic "Khaos Reigns" expansion. I feel the story mode expansion has been nothing more than fanservice. It's probably as fanservice-y as Mortal Kombat 11 bringing back Shao Kahn as a prepaid character. Later, the Aftermath expansion brought in Sha

Power Rangers' Racial Diversity And What It Means To Be TRULY American

It's United Nations month and Power Rangers has a racially diverse team. It was alleged that Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers was racist -- never mind that Zack and Trini did their job pretty well. If it were so then Battle Fever J should be accused of racism -- because Battle Kenya wore a BLACK suit! I remember finding Disney's era of Power Rangers "racist" -- which was probably because I started hating Disney because of Hannah Montana  or some other shows. It may be an American production but Power Rangers' racially diverse team says something. It's that an AMERICAN is a CITIZEN and/or NATIONAL of the USA. Yes, whether it'd be a natural-born or naturalized person -- they are STILL AMERICAN. Doing some research on the original Mighty Morphin' cast -- I wasn't surprised to learn the late Thuy Trang was a Vietnamese migrant. Thuy was two years old when she moved to the US -- which explains why she speaks with an American accent. That's why I

Related In The Adaptation In The "Voltron" Franchise: Pidge And Chip Aren't Related In Their OG Source Material

Yes, Toei did the Fleet of Doom animation! What was either surprising (or not) was that Golion and Dairugger XV are both separate shows. The Earth was destroyed in Year 1999 in  Golion's setting. Dairugger XV has the Earth in the Year 2200 A.D. When adaptations happen -- there's a trope called Related in the Adaptation. My only guess is that American adaptations put several unrelated shows together for the adaptation -- due to cultural difference. Power Rangers put several unrelated shows or self-contained shows in their own expanding universe. I won't devote myself to writing Dairugger XV episode reviews. The show has TOO MANY characters to write about. What was Toei thinking in putting 15 characters in one Anime? It's probably no wonder why children didn't like it! Pidge's story is that he's from Planet Balto. However, that planet that blew up in Golion was actually EARTH! Yes, Lion Voltron episode 20 used footage from where the Earth blew up! None of that
