Who Can Remember That WTF Ending Of Jim Henson's Dinosaurs Sitcom?

Image
I did enjoy the Dinosaurs sitcom as a child -- but one episode was funny and depressing at the same time. It's the final episode (not counting the lost episodes) and its' the 407th episode where ratings were dropping really fast. How to write a finale? It goes out with a bang and I really laugh (and facedesk) at the same time watching this episode. The episode starts with everyone waiting for the Bunch Beetles to return to eat the Cider Poppy overgrowth. I couldn't help but comment how stupid Earl Sinclair REALLY is -- he puts too much faith in technology and this is what happens. Instead of going for environmentally friendly innovation -- they fail to see how innovative thinking is like a two edged sword. It's a brilliant thing at the right hands but dangerous at the hands of people like We Say So Corporation. This is epic facedesk. It's really something when destruction happens in the name of progress. Yes, it's progress alright -- progressive destr...

Did Tom And Jerry Really Kill Themselves?

Image
Here's some throwback for Thursday with my childhood. Yup, it's this episode where Tom and Jerry are abandoned by their romantic interests AND they attempt to kill themselves. This has to be that episode where it's just too much. While the " Rebel Rabbit" episode of Bugs Bunny  was funny (though I heard it was viewed as an anomaly) but this one was just super depressing. I thought this was pretty screwed up actually. Tom and Jerry was supposed to be destructive fun but why in the world did this happen? I even heard this was supposedly the final episode of Tom and Jerry. But there's one thing we forget about the two characters -- they are ACTORS that play different roles and every episode is just a skit. It's like how Super Mario and the Looney Tunes cast are treated -- as actors of a script. One good episode to think about is The Two Mouseketeers where Tom got beheaded (shadows only) but we see him alive after that. You can think of the number of ...

Luke Evans' Gaston Is A Muscular Jafar

Image
It's been a year since the Beauty and the Beast film and aside from my most petty complain that Emma Watson ain't hot enough to be Belle -- I thought I could talk about casting Luke Evans as Gaston felt funny. First, Gaston is supposedly good-looking but instead, we get a Gaston who seriously looks like the lovechild of Gaston and Jafar's sister Nasira (from the video game, Aladdin in Nasira's Revenge) instead of Gaston. If you remembered The Secret of the Hunchback -- there's Frollo here who is the high sheriff of Paris. This version of really Gaston body-wise but ends up having Jafar's facial features. Like Gaston, he's got a small sidekick similar to Lefou and he lusts after the beauty of the story. Oh, should I mention... Esmeralda in the said cartoon short -- looks like a cheaper version of Belle from Beauty and the Beast? She even dresses up like Belle. I have to admit, Evans appearance made me think, "Jafar is that you?" when ...
