Biology 101: Frieza's Birth According To Akira Toriyama?

I've read it somewhere that Akira Toriyama said that Frieza was born of King Cold ALONE. So, one must wonder about Frieza's unnamed race. Sure, we can see that Frieza's race is obviously lizard-like and may have been born from eggs. I assumed at some point that King Cold had a mate. I assumed that King Cold's unknown wife laid eggs and out came Cooler and Frieza who were born simply minutes apart. Though, events in the Dragon Ball Z movies about Cooler were simply hard to fit into the series' canon. It seems Cooler will always exist as a what-if scenario than canon material. I guess Frieza will always be the lone son of King Cold for a reason.

I decided to do some research. Some reptiles give birth by live birth. Others lay eggs. In some cases, some real-life lizards reproduce asexually. This is a very interesting thing from National Geographic in regards to asexual reproduction. Though the trait is left to females only but Dragon Ball Z has plenty of screw logic scenarios. The Nameks are an ALL-MALE species and they're born by a egg hatched from the mouth.

For Frieza to become a mutant of his race - it's interesting to know that real-life shows asexual reproduction among lizards can lead to mutations. I guess certain generations of asexual reproduction may have caused Frieza to mutate. It's possible that King Cold managed to gain the ability to self-propagate without a mate. Maybe, Toriyama decided that it'd be a burden if he had to create another off-screen character (like Chi Chi's mother who died before the show began) to serve as Frieza's mother.

I guess Frieza's mutations (and Cooler in the non-canon) pretty much work that way. Chilled (their ancestor) may have also reproduced asexually until King Cold leading to the generational changes. I guess that could explain why Frieza managed to become uncontrollable until he created three extra forms to suppress his power. Cooler (non-canonically) may have had another mutation which allowed him to don his fourth transformation (or fifth form) in Cooler's Revenge.

What are your thoughts on this matter?
