Megaman Legacy Collection Is Getting Revenge On The NES Megaman Games?

Image
It's no secret that I'm a Megaman fan. I remembered having the Rockman games on the NES (3, 5, and 6) and later played most of the other games on the PS2's Megaman Anniversary Collection where an easy mode made the brutal difficulty simpler for revenge. Well, there's also the Megaman Legacy Collection which contains the first six games on the NES along with a series of challenges. So, what's up with this game? You can consider the game is somewhat of a revenge game in a way. I remembered how earlier Megaman NES games were known for their extreme difficulty. Who can remember the irritating vehicle rides in Gutsman's stage or the irritating laser cannons in Quickman's stage? While the easy mode (or rookie mode for Megaman X Legacy Collection ) is virtually absent for Megaman Legacy Collection but there's one cool new feature. Remember how you wanted to save at the exact spot? Well, there's that trick where you hit the center pad of the PS4's con...

How Kevin Smith And Meg Foster Made Ares And Hera Seem Real Over Being Nearly Invisible, Unseen Villains

Image
It's no doubt that Hercules: The Legendary Journeys is a hit series. Though, I always had my beef towards two of its antagonists namely Hera and Ares (who later became the main antagonist in the place of his mother Hera for several seasons). If you've noticed in the first two seasons - these two villains were always nearly unseen or acted through proxies. Hera always appeared in the form of disembodied eyes for quite some time and also did so in the spin-off series Young Hercules . What did she look like? She was meant to be menacing and somehow - the eyes represent that she's indeed a green-eyed monster. She was usually voiced by the late Joy Watson who was supposed to be menacing. Yet, seasons later one actress would really steal the show... Later on, in Season Five we see Hera finally manifest herself. It made me think why wasn't she secured since the first season? Meg Foster really had the scary eyes and a menacing voice that would make you wish you didn...

Go Go Power Rangers Backlog!

Image
Is it me or is the scheduling of Power Rangers really THAT BAD? Yes, I'm talking about the scheduling done by Nickelodeon as not even the really bad Disney era did this! While I hated the Disney era for its mostly rushed schedules (32 episodes was the lowest count) - Nickelodeon (a network I used to like for some classic cartoons) messed it up EVEN. WORSE. Yes, you can talk about having to split Power Rangers into two separate seasons. Now, Beast Morphers is even hit by the stupid summer hiatus in its first half and now, the second half will air this February 22, 2020. What. The. F***! I decided to do some watching and I had some hopes for Hasbro handling Power Rangers. However, Nickelodeon really messed the schedule big time! The practice was done since last 2011 and each localization of Super Sentai has had a TWO YEAR RUN. The practice is so excruciatingly stupid with how each show could've been done within a year due to the 40+ episode format BUT Nickelodeon chose to ex...

I Just Played Megaman 11

Image
Megaman 11 was released last September 6, 2018 and maybe I'm glad I didn't get the failed Mighty No. 9 . but in a sense, Mighty No. 9 did save the Megaman franchise huh? The game itself isn't really much, it would be like a low-budget fun game like the Dragon Quest Heroes series. Now, it's time to consider the game itself to what it really is. It was meant to celebrate the franchise' long-run while not so many Megaman games were released, right? The story itself introduces the double gear system. I was expecting some grand final battle but there was none. Until now, Capcom has never released an official word. Neither did its former employee Keiji Inafune. So, that's where I get disappointed is that the game itself is not a grand finale but rather some "just another entry". However, it does show the difference between Dr. Light and Dr. Wily. Dr. Wily has been way too focused on his selfish ambitions while Dr. Light isn't. I'm just thinking ...

Remembering Eto Ranger This Year Of The Rat 2020

Image
Image Source Eto Ranger is probably one Anime that either you heard of it or you haven't. It was an Anime series during the late 90s by Shaft Studios and aired on NHK. It does take inspiration from the Super Sentai franchise and somehow Ucchu Sentai Kyuranger had inspired it one way or another. Now, it's time to remember the time ABC-5 (now TV-5) used to air it in the Philippines with dubbed names. I could remember Bakumaru (my favorite character) dubbed as Powell and Cream dubbed as Kelly. Right now, it's all about the actual Japanese names that make it feel more authentic. The Tagalog dub just phases out of my head eventually. So, here's the REAL names and not the names that were given in the Tagalog version: Bakumaru the rat Hols the bull Gao (Growl) the tiger Cream the rabbit Drago the well, dragon Nyori the snake Pakarachi the horse Souffle the sheep Monk the monkey (and he even temporarily became Sun Wukong!) Tart the chicken (and nope, it's ...

Super Mario The Lost Levels Is Pure Torture

Image
There's no doubt that Super Mario is indeed a beloved franchise. However, like every franchise, there is ALWAYS something stupid that will happen every now and then. One such game that is totally an imbecile about designs and innovation is Super Mario - the Lost Levels . It was a game that was only released in Japan. The game Doki Doki Panic was repackaged as Super Mario Bros. 2 presumably due to the fact that Lost Levels just felt too hard for the American audience. How bad is the game? Well, there are a lot of very uninspired and very difficult-level designs. I may have played some really hard games like Megaman 2 and Megaman X6. Still, those two are more reasonable (that is, if you're playing the Anniversary Collection and the Legacy Collection ) than The Lost Levels . Personally, it took me some time to finish Megaman 2 due to it being an early, hard NES game but its design is still far more reasonable than what The Lost Levels had to offer at more than one level. So...

Did Miharu's Selfie Inspire's Cassie Cage's Bloody Selfie?

Image
One move that I didn't notice was in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 was Miharu's hidden selfie move. Granted, I'm no Miharu player so it's no surprise that I missed it, right? The move involves her doing a selfie before her opponent falls down. I was thinking that considering Mortal Kombat has been copying ideas from the Tekken franchise (such as Onaga being obviously a nod to True Ogre) - the reboot then took the idea of one button per limb. MKX would later even create an obvious Ancient Ogre knockoff (though he ended up in the side of good most of the time and was no villain) called Kotal Kahn.  As if making the rebooted version of Sonya Blade look more like Nina Williams from Tekken wasn't enough - I think to give her daughter Cassie a bloodier version of Miharu's selfie was something. Only this time - Cassie only does it as fatality while Miharu did it as a special move. I still can't help but laugh at how Cassie bloodily ripped off Miharu's selfie ...
