I have to admit before I knew the world of Super Sentai, there was the introduction of Power Rangers.  I really thought that it was inspired by Tokusatsu while wondering WHY Japanese toys of Zyurangers lined up.  So here's what... I started off with MMPR when I was an eight year old child in the 90s.  Okay please DO NOT make a comment that Zack and Trini were meant to be racist because they're NOT portrayed negatively.  However I remembered how many of my friends looked down at me for watching it.  However I was a bigger fan of Tokusatsu.  However too many running gags got boring like Kimberly being pursued by Skull, Bulk and Skull's wacky antics and all.  It was actually based on three Sentai seasons- Zyuranger, Dairanger and Kakuranger which really has superior writing.  Damn US censors! So I did spend a bit of these old shames like... Having my crush on Kimberly Hart back then.  I have to think it's just crazy.  Man what am ...

I simply want to tackle on one of the biggest "the evil villain wants to marry the hot chick who hates them the most in the Universe" namely Bowser.  Why?  It seems that every game, it has Bowser wanting to marry Peach.  So the fact is that Peach is the ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom so maybe it's a reason of conquest.  Whatever, the obsession was becoming more and more creepy by the minute, by the second... oh wow Bowser needs to get a life from just wanting to marry Princess Peach! Well here's how it goes: First game- Bowser kidnaps Peach wanting to marry her.  He makes several false Bowsers to fool Mario but he fails as Mario rescues the princess. Third game- While the main plot was where he turned several kings across the world into various creatures, he for a final scheme kidnaps Peach. Super Mario World- Well he kidnaps Peach at the beginning.  Not really surprising. Super Mario Sunshine- His eighth son Bowser Jr. is introduced.  Bowser ...

So far one can't deny that any child who grew up with Greek mythology watered down has this in their mindsets about Hercules: Zeus is his father and Alcmene is his mother.   Hera is NOT the mother of Hercules but his jealous stepmother.   Hades is a neutral god. Here's what is usually removed from the children's adaptation: Zeus slept with Alcmene in the form of Amphitryon, the husband of Alcmene. Hercules is born the son of Perseus.  Technically speaking, Zeus DI NOT have sexual intercourse with Danae but got her pregnant via a shower of gold so Alcmene is only Zeus' "great-granddaughter" in technical, not biological terms. Hera hated Hercules even more because the name Hercules means "the glory of Hera". If there was any villain worth mentioning in Gatchaman it would not be the rather comedic (and gender ambiguous) Berg Katse or the redeemed villain Gel Sadora but rather... his excellency Count Egobossler... or should I say his despicably evilness. So why is he kind of unique? Compared to Berg Katse and Gel Sadora, he was no product of Sosai X but rather a dictator who has little or no mercy in every area he occupies and a person who evolves into a complete monster. His hatred unquenchable, he chose to show no mercy to anyone. What also made him unique is that he would NEVER allow anybody to come above him, not even Sosai Z (created from Sosai X's remains) who he had a partnership with. He feigned his loyalty from the very start hogging the glory only for himself. He was so cruel that even in the first episode, he launches an even bigger attack than most of his predecessors have. He in fact made Gatchaman Fighter very special to me. However things weren't exactly in his favo...

In Dragon Quest 8, it's quite noticeable that there are some puns after all.  Like for example: Trodain can come from the word "trodden". King Trode sounds like King Troll, as the fact that he's never attractive cursed or not. Pickham is a pun on Peckham. Rhapthorne's curse got Trodain WRAPPED IN THORNS and thorns have been his trademark. Perhaps the biggest pun is on Prince Charmles.  Give one bit of an additonal s, you get Charmless which is the name Yangus RIGHTFULLY calls him.  He's really Prince Charmless more like it.  In fact, he should have died in the end!  Well, the true ending is that he discovers that the Hero is not only his cousin but the rightful groom.

If there's any villain in Star Wars that's really bad-ass and deserves a tribute, it's the Sith lord Darth Sidious otherwise known as Palpatine. Though he was a total mystery, all that was known was that he was a human raised by Darth Plagueis whom he killed after learning the secret to manipulate the Force to create life, hence he may have been Anakin Skywalker's "father". So there hasn't been any clue of whether or not Shmi Skywalker was his slave but there is a possibility. Maybe during the time he raised a Zabrak to his apprentice he dubbed as Darth Maul, he was a successful senator but known also for his lasciviousness. He had some relationships possibly with slave girls and he fathered Triclops along the way. So perhaps during that time, he may have also sired Anakin Skywalker either by the Force or natural conception but that's just my speculation. So that may make Triclops the half-brother of Anakin Skywalker since Ken, Triclops' son ...

Well I'd like to give my critic on Jonathan Tzachor's writing.  Here are the two seasons he's involved in: Power Rangers Wild Force (his best) vs. Power Rangers Samurai (his worst but or maybe it's because I'm all grown up?!).  So here's what I think: Power Rangers Wild Force- It potentially had the power to become better than Gaoranger in some ways.  Cole Evans was a pretty interesting character (and well, I think his conception brought the birth of comedic but way more bad-ass Jan Kandou in Gekiranger, both jungle boys) and that Master Org was simply wicked.  Gaoranger was a good series but IMO Wild Force had a little more drama, making the show not a copy/paste work.  Despite the flaws of Wild Force, it's a pretty awesome season although Rick Medina did turn out to be a douche. :( Power Rnagers Samurai- Oh boy, this is a bad season IMO.  Why?  Well, he's not being creative.  I believe that Saban wanted an Asian red ranger but didn't get it b...
