Trying To Fit In Megaman ZX Up To Megaman Legends?

Image
I was thinking about watching the Reploid Revo series on Youtube. The video above does tell the lore that I never played. Granted, I NEVER played Megaman Zero series or the Megaman ZX series so all I could do is to think. So, what could've happened during the time from the post-X series? Megaman X did become a Cyber Elf. It's not even stated what or how the Classic Megaman cast actually passed away. Though, statistics may confirm that Megaman X isn't Classic Megaman unless Capcom finally decided to retcon it in Megaman X5 . I think the Megaman X series really is pretty blur over what happened between the hundred years. Zero is confirmed as Dr. Wily's final creation. It's interesting to see how Reploids and humans have begun to merge in Megaman Zero and later Megaman ZX . In Megaman Legends , there is the term called Carbons. The Carbons are artificially created organic humans who can modify themselves to bizarre lengths - something that regular humans are incapable ...

The Resident Evil Canon Films And Mini-Series

Image
I may no longer be updated with the Resident Evil  franchise but I can't deny I decided to watch RE: Infinite Darkness on Netflix. Before that, I remembered watching RE: Degeneration which featured Leon and Claire. The CGI movies were followed by RE: Damnation and RE: Vendetta  which came out in 2012 and 2017 after the 2008 movie. What makes them different is that all these are canon to the game universe - unlike the RE films which starred Milla Jovovich as the non-canon Alice. I saw the first two RE films though like most movies based on video games - I tend to say they suck. Though Alice is far more worthy of a sequel than Cole Young ever is in Mortal Kombat (2011) movie - it's really an insult IMHO to the 10th anniversary of the franchise's reincarnation! Watching these films feel awkward especially since the last game I played was Code Veronica for the PS2. My first RE game was RE3: Nemesis . Though, thankfully, it was spelled out in certain detail that made watching th...

Megaman X6: Isoc's Possible Real Identity Is...

Image
I don't deny that I'm a fan of Megaman X6 and I'm more than ready to defend it from unfair criticism . However, I think one of the weaker parts of the game is the introduction of Isoc. Isoc is assumed by some fans of the Megaman series to be a robotic avatar of Dr. Wily - just like Serges was in Megaman X2 . However, I do still feel that neither Serges nor Isoc is officially Dr. Wily  since Dr. Wily never takes a position lower than that of the Big Bad. Serges ended up building Sigma a new body and repairing Zero. Keiji Inafune never confirmed either if Serges was really Dr. Wily. Fan theories can be there and probably be left just for fun. Isoc is also subjected to this speculation I found about the character himself. There are certain clues in the game about Isoc's identity. Depending on who you use can reveal SOMETHING about this guy. If you use Zero to defeat Hi-Max (which creates the downside that you can access the Gate stage early on while it's nearly impossi...

#ThrowbackThursdays: It's Been A Decade Since Saban's Return Made Power Rangers EVEN WORSE Than Disney

Image
I remembered one time when the Disney Power Rangers seasons. A look back, we can see that Disney took over Power Rangers halfway Power Rangers Wild Force which the acting was considered sub-par in contrast to Power Rangers Time Force . Personally, I felt Time Force was watchable, Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue was also watchable but like some early Showa era Kamen Rider entries,  Chojinki Metalder,  and Dengekitai JAKQ - they were rushed. The Disney era had a bad habit of shortcuts. Power Rangers Ninja Storm only lasted for 38 episodes (two episodes shorter than usual) and anything after Power Rangers Dino Thunder was cut down to just 32 episodes. After Power Rangers RPM (and I'd honestly watch Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters any day after I ended up dumping Engine Sentai Go-Onger because Gekisou Sentai Carranger is SO MUCH BETTER), they decided to bring that idiotic Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers remastered. Some were wishing Haim Saban will re-buy the rights from Toei Ltd. Though,...

Did Akira Toriyama Get Inspiration From The Days Of Future Past (DOFP) Storyline From Marvel?

Image
In January 1981, the X-Men franchise featured the alternate reality daughter of Cyclops and Jean Grey known as Rachel Summers. The word of Rachel was practically devastated by Sentinels and it's a world caused by what if former villain Senator Kelly was assassinated. The setting in itself is very dark and dystopian. Later on, a few years later, Toei Ltd's Akira Torimaya may have read some Marvel Comics, probably decided to make his own version of Cable with Future Trunks, and mix the Days Of Future Past storyline into Cable with Future Trunks! A look at Future Trunks' timeline shows how humanity managed to succumb to a mechanical menace. The Androids practically rule the future and destroy it for fun. Future Trunks tries to go to a time machine to undo the future - pretty similar to Cable except nobody serves as the role of Mother Askani. Future Trunks goes into the present timeline, meets his alternate reality father (like how Rachel meets Cyclops), and discusses how his d...

Dragon Ball Z's Cell Is Probably Based On G.I.Joe's Serpentor

Image
Copying stuff from each other is just pretty normal, right? Dragon Ball Z was an Anime that really copied a lot of popular culture stuff. Son Goku is obviously based on Sun Wukong. Eventually, stuff from other popular culture got absorbed. Toei Ltd. had a partnership with Marvel during the 1980s. Some stuff Tokusatsu copied from Marvel. We have the Japanese Spiderman which is NOT part of the Marvel continuity but its own or how Bazoo in Dengeki Sentai Changeman is the show's version of Ego the Living Planet. Not to mention, Toei Ltd. also had a partnership with Hasbro when its animation studios in regards to G.I.Joe (Sunbow era) and Transformers Generation One . So, it's really no surprise that they kept copying stuff. Soon enough, the Cell Saga with Dragon Ball Z has some Marvel influence (and other influence) in it. Perhaps the most obvious is that Future Trunks' storyline is clearly copied from Days Of Future Past in X-Men. Future Trunks might be a nod to Cable from the ...

Megaman X's Story Of Sigma's True Form As A Virus Plot

Image
It's no doubt that I think Sigma is the best Megaman franchise villain ever . I feel he's more developed than all the villains such as Dr. Wily (for the Classic series), the Bonnes (for the now-defunct Legends series), or any of the other villains that were conceived for any Megaman entry. Now, a plot was seems to be either forgotten or somewhat played with is the plot that his true form (that is, according to Dr. Doppler) is a computer virus.  TV Tropes has this rather interesting point about him : Dead All Along: Neither X nor Zero ever were made aware, but X4 and Word of God clued in the audience that the "Sigma" who incites war throughout the series isn't even the genuine article. Commander Sigma, the Maverick Hunter, ceased to be when he first encountered Zero, long before the series even started. His consciousness was overtaken and assimilated by the Maverick Virus, causing it to mutate into the Sigma Virus, which walked around in his body until X first de...
